I really hope that wasn't Wilson with the behind the back pass to the Blues in the offensive zone. We need him not in the doghouse to start the season.

Hey guys, St. Louis fan here.
I feel bad for your guys weak start this game. I didn't follow you guys during the preseason so Im wondering was Rinne weak during the offseason aswell? or is this just an off-game (obviously it is but I mean to what extent) for him compared to what he's been this (pre)season?

Also, you're guys opening post is so much cooler than ours

If Nystrom can play like this every game, I take back what I said about that signing. We'll see.

People can post what they want, I'm simply laughing at the too easily predictable "game over" "1st overall pick" posts that are just hilarious, that's all. It's a bad start (scratch that, god awful) but the first period of the first game of the season isn't even over

And what gives you any hope that we will climb out of this hole?

Pretty funny that Spaling, who we all thought should have been traded for a bag of pucks, makes a nice play to set up our first goal

Did we just outpass a two-man forecheck along our goal line?

Rinne is coming back from injury/surgery. Yes, he was also pretty shaky in the preseason as well.

I personally doubt it. Wouldn't expect Hutton to finish with a shutout, and three goals would be a challenge to say in the least.

But much much crazier things have happened.

Welp, feels like a continuation of last season.

Maybe the D will tighten up since they know Hutton can't stop anything?

Worried about Rinne's hip. His side-to-side mobility was nonexistent.

Edit: If Rinne's hip is a problem, presumably management knows that. If they know that, and we're still sitting here with just Hutton...well...

Other than the couple of dumb plays that resulted in goals against the preds really haven't looked this bad this period. Good to see some strong puck possession and offensive chances as well as more than 10 sog in one period. The defense and Rinne will improve with time so I'm not gonna be entirely concerned about that right now. More happy that the preds didn't roll over and die after all of that and are still fighting and scrapping their way back into the game.

Honestly wasn't that bad of a first period. Bottom two lines are the best thus far by a country mile: Goose / Hendricks / Clune and Fish / Spals / Nystrom. I thought we outpossessed by a fair margin and had decent cycling as far as Nashville hockey goes. Basically they had three great chances and converted all of them; typically doesn't happen that way.

Wilson had a really poor first.

I'm thinking this game will end up going to OT.

It's what we do.
