Deryk Engelland would be a very good option. Just don't know what he would cost. Maybe something around Pateryn + could work.

is your top nine literally lousy with midgets like the habs ? All of our protection comes from the fourth line, the non midgets in to the top 9 are not what anyone would consider hard. We have a lot of interchangable guys for the fourth but the only times they get a sniff at the third and second lines is in the case of injury.

it would be great to not need a guy to watch over our top 9, but with the top 9 we have that's not a viable option, so we need protection. as was shown, graphically, last year a combo of an injured prust and moen and white, probably wont cut it so we went and got parros ( and to a lesser extent murray).

I brought up engelland and was told he's worse than murray. Matt carkner is another guy in the same mold and he met the same fate, fans think he's worse than murray.

I hope murray kicks the injured in practice bug soon so we can see what he brings. I'm also hopeful ( more wishfull thinking than anything) that parros is back sooner than most expect.

3 wins, 1 Draw and 1 loss for Montreal in that game. And if you look at the votes outside the draw for the 2nd Orr-Parros fight, Parros greatly beats Orr in votes. AND, the only win Toronto got in the fight department was inconclusive.

So if you don't mind, we'll go with the website specialised in hockey fights instead of your homer's eye.
You really call orr and parros dancing around and both falling to the ice a win for parros? I get montreal doesn't win a lot of fights but come on, quit being a homer for a second.

Gee, didn't know a thread about trading for a goon was going to turn into a pissing contest about poor eyesight.

Habs-Leafs. How about you? Parros X2 + Tinordi are clear as day, I could call Moen-Fraser a tie cause I'm feeling nice.

orr parros was meh.... both fights no tko nothing special ( except parros went to the hospital for tkoing himself )

aston got beat silly

frasor meon was a draw. rematch possible in next bout. still laughing at the fact that meon was to stupid to understand what frasor was saying.

frasor prust. biggest coward move of the night. prust drops his cloves then eats frasors punchs until frasor feels bad for him.

end of the day, leafs won and the smurfs send another body to the hospital. its becoming a yearly ritual.

McLaren will be back for rematch should be amusing since no one on Habs can handle him

They're tired of losing to the Leafs I guess.

I watched the game and all the penalties The Habs got were in fact penalties. IMO The Leafs got away with a few especially late in the 3rd.

Yeah, this IS the problem here...

Like the one given to Prust 4 minutes from the end of the game...

He deserved a penality, but what about Fraser, who droped his gloves and is clearly the agressor...

Prust get a 5 for fighting (sigh, he didn't even drop his gloves) and a two for roughing...

Fraser only get 5 for fighting...

Totally NOT logical...

And after the Habs scored on this powerplay (shorthanded), the refs had many chances to penalise the Leafs... but they didn't...

The NHL is pretending to have incompetent referees, but it's an excuse to be able to fix games...

No I'm sorry, Sorry for how bad your eyes must be. Parros did not beat orr at all they both threw some punches and both went down wasn't a clear winner in that fight, It's really sad if you call that a win.

Fraser clearly beat moen everyone knows this, it was clear cut.

Tinordi won his no doubt.

That's complete BS, Fraser and prust was abosuletly a fight, Prust skated up to fraser and punched him in the face with his gloves on, Then when fraser dropped his gloves to fight prust refused and got absolutely demolished and curled up along the boards and waited for the refs to save him. They didn't show prust punching fraser on the live feed but ill leave a youtube video so you can see how big of a coward prust really is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxqrYPidJuo (start the video at 1:25)
You're clearly making voluntary blindness...

Prust got an hypocrit elbow in the face by Fraser (after being hit from behind by the Leafs player 30 sec earlier) while going back to the bench and responded with that punch in the face...

Look by yourself, everything is here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxqrYPidJuo (But listen to the video ENTIRELY, not just the part that is good for you)...

I'm a Habs fan but I do agree with you...

No, but when a team is permitted to make interference, to hold, to hook, to high stick, etc.. and not the other team...

Finally, when you have a double standard refereering, it's hard to win...

But as Habs fans, we're use to it against Toronto...

Good analysis...

I agree 100%...

In my previous posts, I was talking about double-standard refereeing, wich make games harder to win, but good teams get over it...

I'm not saying this is THE ONLY reason why my team lost the game...

In fact, the reasons you evoked are the main things...

Habs need a spare for Parros in case of. Tarnaski sucks as fighter and more as player. Ben Eager is the next Laraques "I want to play 20mins per but i don't have the skills for." I'm ready to pay the price for Reaves or Bordeleau they are Neil-prototype maybe a 3rd and b prospect its ok

Engelland is worse than Murray in what? He's a 6th or 7th d-man who is right-handed and is a much better fighter than Murray. I would be happy if the Habs would trade for him.
