i can't see us not keeping legwand. he is the highest draft pick in franchise history and would be the first guy to retire a lifetime pred.

While I agreed for many years, and hope he does, it's not that easy. Business starts to get in the way. As does a logjam at his position. Who knows, maybe he wouldn't mind leaving for a team with a chance at a Cup. Would it be sweeter for him to win it in Nashville? Absolutely. But if you're 33 and starting your contract year, in your 14th full season, wouldn't you maybe think your chances are winding down and might want to follow your only chance at a title?

Unless he signs cheap I see Legwand gone at the end of the season.

I hope it's at the deadline, personally

For all those that want Legwand out via trade, I'm sure you'd be wanting him back after whatever pathetic return we get for him ends up doing nothing. I can almost guarantee that his value here will far exceed anything we get for him.

At this point, Legwand is untradeable. No one will take on his contract... maybe at the deadline when it's less of a cap hit. But still, I don't see him being a hot commodity unless he goes on a scoring streak.

Nostalgia should play no part if we keep Legwand or not. Only 3 questions: 1) Is he going to be a key veteran on this team, 2) What is the price, 3) How much is he going to diminish with age?

his leadership role should go up as it's apparent he doesn't want an official leadership role but it's obvious that he brings lots of leadership to the table.

imo
