They played well for the first 30 minutes. They just couldn't find the back of the net.

Ok, this is just killing me.

I want someone to start a fight with Richards and grind him into powder.

I'm one or two lazy plays, shifts off, or missed breakways from going back to screaming for him to be traded. This is getting really bad.

Apparently crosschecking is legal now.

(Not that it would make a difference with Ramsay though.)

Trade Sarich right now. Prospal too. Fedotenko as well. Almost everyone, I want them gone, like now.

Did someone out there say 50 shots and they'd lose?

That guy is a genius.

Kolzig pulled a Luongo.

Stop making negative predictions that come true. That's twice in this thread! :p

Great, now you're quoting yourself. Guess that your prognosticator is working tonight. Maybe you should have vbookied on the Caps?

I turned the game on in the middle of the second. All I saw in the last 10 minutes of that period was the Lightning standing around and the Caps forechecking like a beast.

Too bad the Lightning don't clear opponents from the crease like the Caps were doing tonight. Although, the Lightning would probably draw the cross-checking penalties.

All current frustration aside, Prospal and Sarich need to go, now.

Prospal continues to be terrible every time he touches the ice. Sarich takes horrible penalties all the time, and his really lazy play led to a sadly easy goal for Ovechkin tonight.

Richards should be benched. He 100% gave up on that short handed breakaway. You would honestly expect more out of him, yet some fans continue to excuse his horrible, lazy play, and I have no idea why.

Affy and Feds should be on the block as well. There are plenty of other guys we can trade for/promote who won't score and bring energy. Get with it gentlemen.

Sarich played really bad, Brad what can i say, let's see if Torts does something to his golden boy and benches him for his pathetic play, but we all know that will never happen.

It's not as simple as just saying we want to trade Affy or Prospal or whoever and then it happens. I highly doubt any team in the league would part with any asset to acquire those two right now.

The cable wasn't working at work so I tuned in right as soon as I got to a working TV. I caught it just in time to see that Ovechkin goal. We were one of the few teams that had kept him pretty well at bay (from all of the videos I've seen and games I've watched) but that play was absolutely horrible. You don't make that kind of play with Ovechkin right on you even when there IS a goalie in the net. Boyle mad a horrible no look pass at some point too. I didn't know Richards missed another short handed attempt, what is up with him? He used to be good. I can't believe I just said that.

Jesus. This team has so much talent, I just wish they could get it out there. St. Louis and Lecavalier, on the same line, should have a 100 goal season for chrissake!

I'm glad Tarnasky FINALLY got his goal, the way he plays on the puck he should have more. Lecavalier finally gets another after that special write up on their website about his record season had jinxed him.

We should never lose to the Caps. I'm sorry, but that's just not a team to lose to. I wish I had seen the rest of the game.

On a side note I had a dream before I woke up this morning that they had actually tied and gone into overtime. I almost wish I were still asleep.

Maybe just a little credit could go to Kolzig after this one? They put in the effort needed to win this game (minus that shorthanded goal), just couldn't get anything past Kolzig. For the majority of the game, they dominated and controlled play. Kolzig brought his A+ effort last night, it's not like our guys played pathetic. One of those games where he stops everything and the few chances they had went in.

True, but that seems to be happening a lot. Remember Lehtonen's shutout? And, like was said before, one of the first shots in the game always ends up in our net.

Two examples this year means it's happening a lot? The goalies in this league are good, they are going to steal games on occasion.

There have been more than two, I was just pointing at the most obvious examples.

I didn't get to see the game, but I've heard there were some good things (like a shot advantage of 50-20), but you would also expect to win such a game. Yes these games do happen, but that doesn't mean it doesn't suck.
