Some terrible forward depth right now. Buffalo's first forward call up is probably Luke Adam right now. Pretty bad.

Probably the best part of the game tonight. I had hoped he could be a Friday night regular, but seems like it's just a one time thing. Great PA announcer.

So my brief thoughts on the Amerks right now. Looks like a great defense of paper. Great goaltending in Hackett. I'm concerned about the forwards. There's just not much skill. Scoring will probably be an issue, at least until Armia and someone else comes down from Buffalo.

From my brief look at the division, no one else seems to be all that strong. The Marlies have lost a lot. Utica has some good players, but I think the Amerks could/should be the best team in the division if the Sabres can stay relatively healthy.

Locke has been sent back to JR.

Lieuwen is the back up tonight to Hackett

Syzdlowski, Hutchings, Lepkowski, MacKenzie, Knapp and Makarov are scratches

As of now, @gwtgladiators have just one goalie on camp roster. Amerks currently with four. Not official affiliation but could be used again.

Tim Schaller still awaiting medical clearance per Kevin O.

Anybody know recent practice lines? Haven't seen any for a few days.

My guess:

Adam-Varone-Tardif
Gillies-Catenacci-Zigomanis
Roy-Ellis-Jacobs
McGuire-Sundher-Parker (or maybe Jacobs centering this line)

McNabb Ruhwedel
Bagnall Sulzer
Leduc Crawford

McGuire playing first pro game tonight. 9 more to go.

Pretty disastrous home opener, it sounds like. 7-1 after two.

8-1 and the Amerks have been outclassed in every possible facet of the game. A true abomination. Every player has looked abysmal.

Locke had 3 assists and was a +2 in his first game back in Saginaw.

Thanks!

What an unbelievable nightmare. Crowd was pumped, players were pumped... total letdown. Grand Rapids outclassed them in every way. Amerks didn't look ready to play. They were down 2-0 after the 1st period, but that was honestly their best period of the game. The second period was a nightmare.

Roy ran around trying to kill someone all night. So that was fun. Other than that, there wasn't any positive takeaways. Adam scored a garbage goal.... that's it. Yeesh. A LOT of work to be done down on the farm.

The forwards are just terrible. Again, when Adam is a top line winger, you know your team is in big trouble. A couple injuries in Buffalo and the Amerks are scrambling. Another season, another year of terrible forward depth.

It was always going to be about the defense. But the stunk tonight too.

Sucks for Rochester but what did they honestly expect when pretty much the whole prospect pool is either here in or juniors.

Players 25 and under on the Sabres:

Ennis, Flynn, Grigs, Girgs, Hodgson, Larsson, Tropp, Risto, Pysyk, Myers, McBain Weber and Enroth.

Sorry but that many guys still in RFA territory on the big club doesn't set up nicely for the farm. They should be good in 2 years with the amount of depth that has been drafted the last 2 years alone.

Really hope Rochester improves. I was thinking about purchasing a pack of tickets.
Their D and G should be able to turn it around though. Hopefully Armia can get down there and whoever else they send (Larsson?) Seems it would be Larsson since his ice time although I disagree.
