If he can be a 3rd/4th line pseudo-enforcer that can skate and score, and move up in the lineup when injuries arise, kind of like Kyle Clifford, I'll be more than thrilled.
When we drafted him, my hope was that he could be our Kyle Clifford. He is showing decent hands right now and did so in camp as well. Keep in mind that he was injured for much of camp as well and that makes his start even more impressive.

9-1 shellacking of an undefeated team, outshooting them by more than 30 shots.

That's as dominant as it gets in hockey. Way to go Oil Kings.

Moroz with 2 assists.

How Greg Chase fell to 7th round? He has decent size, grit and he scored fairly good points. I don't get it.

I did - there were definitively players who were drafted higher with bad skating - his skating wasn't even that bad. I also find it funny that the guy got drafted so late, probably explained by lacklustre numbers, his on-ice attitude, and a little of a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none idea around him.

I will not take such disrespect from my son lol.

But seriously he is not a "bad" skater. Keep in mind that you are comparing him, a teenager in the WHL, to players 4-5 years his senior at the Bears game and older than that at the Oilers' camp. He is smack in the middle of the curve for his age.

Again, he has lots of room for improvement (and likely will improve based on his age), but watching him play against his contemporaries in the WHL ECF last year against the Kings, his footspeed is clearly not an issue at this time.

I'm guessing Chase must've bombed his interviews or something, because he's playing more like a 2nd rounder than a 7th. I remember back in 2011 Sean Couturier was a lock to be a top 5 pick and Brandon Saad was supposed to be a mid first round pick. Teams were apparently turned off by their responses and they fell to 8 and the second round respectively. Well by the time it gets to the 4th round and lower I couldn't care less about character/attitude and would much rather just go for the guy that has the most skill. Even with a guy like Linus Omark at least we got half a productive season out of him, which is better than most 4th rounders.

I disagree 100%. In the later rounds, I'd rather take the guy with character. You can have all the skill in the world, but if you don't work at it, you'll never amount to anything. I'd rather get a 4th liner who's going to go out and do whatever it takes than another Omark who just expects to float around and be gifted everything

Very doubtful there was an interview for such a low draft pick, probably half-explains any good player that slips through and becomes a success in the later rounds, all up to the scouts at that point. He certainly wasn't one of the 100 or so players invited to the Combine which determines most of the pre-draft interviews. Unless I am missing something, of course, but goes along the second half of your post...

Man I wish there were streams for some Greyhounds games. We didn't have to worry about watching our top draft picks the last couple seasons because they'd be right here with the big club. But I really want to watch a full game instead of just highlights.

According to the OHL the Greyhounds have 8 games being broadcast on TV this year (heres the link to the dates/channels).

I'd imagine someone with the right skills would be able to find streams of these games (including the one tonight).

Thanks

Moroz scored tonight, and it sounds like Nurse had a studdly game.
