Sort of unrelated, but I was watching sportsnet or sportcentre who had a top 10 best Patrick Roy moments or something the other day. Yet again, the Jeremy Roenick/Patrick Roy verbal back-and-forth was ranked in the top 2.

Am I the only one who thinks Roy comes off looking like a complete moron in that? Roenick made a comment about Roy's jock strap being up in the stands because he deked him out of it so badly in game 3 of their series, which Roy comes back and says he didn't hear him because he had his two Stanley Cup rings in his ears. Everybody still applauds Roy for saying to this day. WHY THE **** WOULD YOUR CUP RINGS BE IN YOUR EARS?!?! There's NOTHING even remotely clever or witty about that and the sports shows treat it like it was the burn of the century.

Sorry, that just drives me crazy every time TSN plays it, which is probably going to be far more frequently now that he's back in the NHL.

I never found that Patrick Roy quote all that great either. It doesn't really help that I always hated Roy.

Wow. How can people vested in sports not understand that Roy-Roenick exchange. Mind-boggling.

I still do not understand how Vancouver does not sign Massy Raymond.

If these are the Flames' new third jerseys then... LOL.

EDIT: The shoulder patches are better than the tacky Canadian flag/Alberta flag ones.

The Oilers and the Lightning have a lot in common.

Haha, just a general comparison. Immense talent on both sides and yet both clubs are still struggling to find success.

TB's trip to the Conference Finals two years ago was... weird.

The lack of defense/goaltending is probably a good reason why.

Welcome to Eastern Conference hockey. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the one team that could actually play defense won the conference last year.

Florida has to be the worst team in the league. Thomas was pulled after 5 goals on 28 shots in 2 periods.

Can't blame MPS for Blues not dressing him. They're a well-oiled machine right now. Just blowing through teams.

DET with a tough loss against the B's. Just out-classed by a better team. Boston is ridiculous right now. Their 4th line has more chemistry than any other in the league, and to top it all off they have potentially the most-stacked top-9 in the league today.

Lucic Krejci Iginla
Eriksson Bergeron Marchand
Caron Kelly Smith
Thornton Campbell Paille

Chara Seidenberg
Boychuk McQuaid
Krug Hamilton

Rask

That team is ridiculously well-built. Smith and Caron have looked great thus far, and you can't forget that Soderberg is going to be a contributor for them as well pretty soon.

-Chuck Kobasew with his 2nd goal in 2 games. Keep in mind he was an available UFA before this season started. Ryan Smyth is on our top line...

-like the poster above said - Mason Raymond is taking advantage of elevated role and producing. He's always looked like an offensive difference-maker for the Canucks when elevated in the past - but he's seemed to find a perfect fit with the Leafs. I used to despise that team but I find myself admiring their make-up and fight these days

And the guy who rebuilt the Leafs from a pile of rubble is now in charge of doing the same for the Flames. Meanwhile the same moron who has been in charge of the most futile team in the league the last 5 years is still in charge here.
