If it wasn't for Eller playing like Peter Forsberg, I don't think we'd be happy with Therrien's coaching. The special teams are crap and the three mousketeers (DD, Briere, Bouillon) are playing some awful hockey.

We won because the Flyers have no semblance of a system left.

Winning is not the #1 thing. They want to win THEIR way.....even if it means they're handicapping themselves.

Flyers are in for a long year. Lack of speed on defence will prevent them from generating offence and will have them chasing on D #mtlhockey

but but I though have guys to "clear the crease" was the be all and end all? Who cares if you can barely exit your zone and spend half the game short handed?

The Flyers sucked but the pk looked much better.

And Therrien made some adjustments. And he sat the shrimp.

When your D consists of puck movers and lack of defensive skill then it's a problem.

Philly gets 1 puck mover and that D is scary.

I guess it was so obvious that everybody saw it. But I wonder if some people on TV or on the Habs brass might be reading this board and actually get ideas from here. It's highly unlikely, and it would be pretty stupid to take any "credit" from it, but this site is so popular that you never know.

The guy who played like Forsberg was Chucky. Eller was excellent. But the guy who was key on this line was Chucky.

Any chance we could steal Simmonds from Philly since they aren't going anywhere?

DD and who else would they take? lol

The people worth listening to have been preaching a good mix of puck movers and crease clearers from the start.

I am, and I was crediting everyone (even Gionta), I even said that Therrien made adjustments early on in this PGT but we can't go around claiming that all is fixed. It's not.

But I WILL say that our defensive structure went back to a collapse kinda style and was very successful against the firepower of the Flyers. Giroux & Co. were invisible.

Who do you remove to add that special puck mover? You put him on the bottom pairing, or on the top pairings?

It's never as easy. I personally believe the Flyers' problem is not their player composition; it's their coaching. Pete simply has lost it; he's got no idea how to properly coach the players he has under his hand.

Damn I want Simmons on our team

Only need 2 puck movers to be honest. The 3rd pairing should be a full defensive pairing that can clear the zone.
