Why so? Beaulieu, Bourival, and DD would add some speed and youth to this team, right?

But yeah, I'll give them credit, they're way better than they used to be. We'll finally have challenge playing them and finishing higher than them in the standings.

Eller on pace for 205 pts. Conservative estimate.

That was the best game I've seen from Gorges in awhile. He looks to be getting back into his old form, playing better than last year. Markov just hasn't regained his old mobility yet....hope it comes...he's having some problems defensively.

Kudos to Therrien for rewarding his best players.
I would sooner blame Laviolette's incapacity to adjust than Giroux's poor health. Pete either can't motivate his player for crap, or just hasn't designed a proper defensive system.

Tonight's problem for the Flyers weren't Giroux, it was their bad defense.

but but I though have guys to "clear the crease" was the be all and end all? Who cares if you can barely exit your zone and spend half the game short handed?

The flyers have Streit, Meszaros, Timonen and Coburn who can move the puck well-alright. Schenn can do so and so can Grossmann but not really well. The Flyers' forwards take off right away. They just want goals.

We won because the Flyers have no semblance of a system left.
The way he handle the team and the young players so far is better than most previous coaches.

Eller plays like Forsberg because MT challenged him early last season and turned him into the complete package.

The way he eased the Gallys in with Prust was genius and it worked.

This year he gave the opportunity to Tinordi and Bournival so far so good.

Special teams : he runs both?

Simmonds is locked long term in a very nice contract. Now, the question you gotta ask: who do you think would benefit the Habs more; Beaulieu or Simmonds?

Do we need another tought and skilled power forward, or another PMD?

I would not trade Bealieu for Simmonds straight up. Like you say Beaulieu may become the best of them all and I believe he will. He is such a smooth skater with great vision. I can't wait to see in a few years Subban, Tinordi, Beaulieu, Emelin as our top four.

Since the trade probably won't be made, I hope you are right (about Beaulieu being the best of the 4).

Desharnais is day to day after taking an elbow from Therien on the bench. Benching not intentional.

Surprised? This is the genius whose best team strategy was " dry island". A philosophical and strategic genius.

Teamed with Holmgren, worse tandem in the NHL.

Has Eller's mom visited Montreal to see him play yet? Is she still afraid of planes? I need to know these things!

Sure, but the final question for the GM remains: what are the values of what I'm getting and what I'm giving? You can't just distill any trade down to the "corner pieces" as if the other guys are just distractions or smoke screens. (unless they're minor league players or whatever, I suppose, but it would be kinda weird to see something like that wrapped up in such a deal as opposed to its own separate transaction)

Eric Engels ‏@EricEngels 30s

If I'm not mistaken, that's the most Alex Galchenyuk has played in an nhl game. Still under 17 minutes

That is a nice sentiment, but I can't believe he will ever surpass Subban who already has physical skills he will never possess.
