It was both. I had to remind myself that giroux was actually in the lineup. But their defense also isn't very good at getting pucks up to their forwards in stride, as galley mentioned on CBC.

Giroux's presence cannot be understated though. The flyers will go as far as giroux takes them.

Pretty boring game, I thought. Like giroux for Philly, the habs will go as far as price takes them. The habs also need another top 4 guy because Diaz is not stable enough for my liking.

It was annoying watching briere tonight, though. I can't stand lazy penalties .

The pk also needs work. Habs seem to have a really tough time clearing the puck when the opportunity is there

Darche to Eller:

"Beside getting rid of me as a linemate, what makes your line so succesful?"

Darche is the only one on L'AC who should speak English.

So ****ing jealous of Mario Tremblay right now. He just touched Eller's bulging shoulders.

It's ironic that he does the Saturday shows where they speak to the players, and Langdeau, who can actually speak English, does the weekday shows.

This. I've been impressed with Rene even from what I saw last year. I'd say he's in for a good season, and that goal was a bullet too.

Tremblay should have put his ego aside and let Darche talk to Eller more. I would have really liked to hear more of what Darche had to say about Eller's development. I really don't care about Tremblay's opinion on Eller. So forced.

Great efforts from the Eller and Bournival lines, Bourque and Gio had decent games as well. Bournival played a very smart, conservative game, chipping in pucks, taking care of his own end. Really going to be tough to keep him out of the lineup.

That was the best game I've seen from Gorges in awhile. He looks to be getting back into his old form, playing better than last year. Markov just hasn't regained his old mobility yet....hope it comes...he's having some problems defensively.

Kudos to Therrien for rewarding his best players.
Once he is in etter shape they will no doubt score more but wow that D just wont get it done...

IMO they are in big trouble....

Agreed. This game shows what Philly is like if Giroux is a total non-factor. It's not pretty. But if Giroux bounces back, then the Flyers will likely bounce back with him.

As for the Habs, I'm really pleased and pleasantly surprised with Therrien's quick adjustment, both with Eller and with Subban. Hopefully this means that he won't play favorites between DD and Eller, and whichever guy most deserves it will get the most ice-time. Right now, Eller deserves to be the Habs forward getting the most ice-time, or at least very close to it.

Eller has always had all the tools, he just had trouble putting it altogether to produce a lot of goals and points. But now he's putting it altogether, and it's really exciting to watch! Eller is becoming a real force for the Habs.

When he's on, he got it all. Strength, speed, size, shot. Perfect complementary winger. Just needs to work on his consistency, like he had to do for his whole career.

Ideally guys who can both clear the zone and move the puck.

I think Emelin can do that.

Almost 5 minutes of PP TOI for Eller, almost 19 minutes (18:43).
He did 18 minutes twice last season!

I also think he never had 4:53 of PP in any game.
Galchenyuk even got 6:19.

MT continues to let them win their TOI.

It's very early in the season, but it's nice to see Eller, Galchenyuk, and Gallagher names on the top 20 scorer of the NHL.

Yannic didn't even translate 70% of what Mon beau Lars said. And he's not very good at interviewing. Darche was solid. The guy's brilliant, you can see that. Happy that Yresssunechose wasn't there. He's the french PJ Stuck. But the best question was Mario's, regarding his development. Unfortunately, he cut Mon Beau Lars, who had started his explanation.

Now the million dollar question... what happens when Pacioretty is back? Surely his injury wasn't the only reason MT gave so much ice time to the kid line. Right?
