Watched the game--there was initially no call on Downie, at least not from the referee who was nearest the play. After the scrum, he got hit for charging and Weber got a double minor.

I didn't like the call much, but its Downie, so I wasn't surprised.

With these rumors of Jake Gardiner possibly being moved would anyone be willing to move Laughton for him? I would.

Already a trade thread assuming we need a goalie to solve our problems on the main board.

I don't think there's any myth more pervasive in hockey then Philly and goalies other then maybe fighting stopping players from being dirtier.

For the record, we haven't had a clear-cut, established top tier starter in a long while and we do have a constant goalie carousal, but the goalies that have partaken in that carousal usually aren't all that bad. Biron put up decent numbers here, Bobrovsky had immense talent we were just too impatient with (obviously), and the Emery/Mason combo (while not anywhere near top tier) isn't exactly a problem at the moment. Only time I've been really pissed off at our talent in net is when we had Leighton/Boucher running things and ironically enough that's when we went to the SCF.

EDIT: Forgot about Bryz.

Of course it's about goalies. No one can make a pass and we've scored once (well, twice) over six periods of hockey. I wish we had Lundqvist to help us with that

Yeh, goalies help with breakout passes and creating offence.

Zach Bogosian topped Schenn for worst turnover that led to a goal tonight.

At least Schenn's was a deflection. This was horrible. To add insult to injury he pulled a Hartnell and fell for no apparent reason.

Not unless there's another plan regarding our current defensemen.

In other news, my super secret source says Zach is not capable of playing anymore. it is 100% true, worst D man in the NHL, even worse than Luke Schenn.

Is Bogosian even still in the league? What's he hanging around for?

Mike Richards some quality forechecking, forced the turnover and than fed Muzzin for the goal.

Nostalgia..

Richards looks like he actually got himself into shape this offseason. He is looking pretty good

Glad to see the Oilers beat the Devils, but giving up the tying goal with less than a minute left and on the PP? Wow.

Listening to TSN-Toronto Radio is absolutely hilarious.

They are just trashing the Flyers (the team and organization), lecturing on the way in which to construct a model organization dedicated to and capable of winning (without, wait for it, excessive wasteful spending). This holier-than-thou attitude out of the Toronto-based media is absolutely incredible. You'd think they lived in a cave over the past decade and a half.

I'm still astounded that some fans think goaltending is the Flyers problem. Goalies don't make the flyers offense score at a goal a game pace.

The entire Toronto hockey scene has been so quick to forget the last decade. Between their fans on HF and the way the media panders to them, I want nothing more than to see them fail miserably this year. What makes it worse is that I always said hockey would be better when Toronto was good again.

James Neal is DTD with a strained oblique, he hurt playing wiffle ball.

It takes a special idiot to get injured in wiffle ball.
