Talking about DD in an Eller thread. I'm not surprised.

If Eller keep playing like he is for the whole season and maintain himself around 1 ppg, his contract will be around 6/7 millions if not more...

I thought Eller was very impressive last night. You guys are well on your way to winning that Halak trade.

No, not really. Couture is my second favourite player just behind PK, so I watch him a fair bit. They play a different game. I don't know who I'd compare Eller to on the Sharks. With his patience and how he protects the puck, he'd be similar to Thornton in some ways - example, that played where he circled in the offensive zone to buy time before throwing a great pass to Prust*.

Obviously he doesn't have nearly the same passing ability or vision that Thornton does though. And for the most part, they're not very similar players. I was just comparing that aspect of their games.

Eller looks so big out there, he and Bourque are so hard to knock off the puck. He's really using his linemates now which is great. The way I see it, Galchenyuk is the playmaker, Gallagher the finish, and Eller simply makes room and holds onto the puck. He's the straw stirring the drink. As much as the Gallys have been great together, the addition of Eller gives them such a great balanced attack. They have got to be the 2nd line from now on (as long as they keep producing)

After the Subban vs Karlsson debate from a couple years ago, it is now time for the Eller vs Turris argument! God, I had almost forgot how annoying and obnoxious Sens fans were.

Same. I'd be more than happy if he reaches a similar level to M.Koivu.

Sundin was just a freak of nature at 6'5 and 235 lbs.

I just don't understand how people can blame Plekanec for disappearing in the playoffs when he tied with Subban for the most points. Just stupidity.

Couris is a known Plek hater, he's delusional when it comes to him. Let it go

He must never leave this team. He's the prototype for the hockey player of the 21st century. I believe he can score 30 this year.

Read this guy's posts. It's a laugh riot. Plekachu sucks. Trade Plekachu. Price is horrible. Trade Price.

This "poster" only needs to put his name in a post. The whole board will know intuitively what his comment would be.

That was probably the best I've seen Pleks play in a playoff at least offensively. He was even physical.

Only 27 to go, and there's 80 games left. Yeah it's doable.

This season is already flying by so fast

I hate when my expectations are surpassed, Eller is just playing too good right now and I see a lot of comments about how he is a no. 1 center while I never expected him too fill this role. I'll wait 20 more games to see how consistent he is because I don't want to be disappointed.

Congratulation for the 2nd star of the week, ''Mon amour''!

Eller has been my favorite player on the habs since his first season here.

I was one of them saying he will be a 55-60 points second line center in about 2-3 years at the time. He will surely put up at least 50 points this year playing like this.

Also man does Eller and Galchenyuk look big on the ice, that line is really a perfect combination of size, grit and skills.

Curious to hear PM's take on Eller tonight on TSN690...I know at the time of the trade and after he kept saying how the Habs should of got more for Halak and that Eller was a 4th liner or 3rd liner at best because he didn't have the offensive ability to play in a top 6 role (which to me made no sense, ability was never an issue with him).

I know he was on Ottawa radio this morning and briefly mentioned his name when the hosts asked him about Halak

It's way too early to say he's going to play like a number 1 C all year long, he's played against two defensively crappy teams so far after all, and he's playing against 2nd and 3rd lines, but he's showing why he's one of our most valuable forward, especially if he can keep up the confidence on his shot.

I'm a big fan of Eller but saying he will be a 1st center is pushing it. Maybe he will but for me, he's the ideal 2nd center. If he exceeds all expectations and becomes a 1st, well good for us but I won't be expecting him to be a 1st C and be disappointed if he doesn't.

He's potentially the perfect compliment to Galchenyuk though, especially if he can even further improve his defensive skills.

Eller has had 2 great games so far but lets not jinx him just yet. Hopefully he can keep this up and if he does, it gives us a lot of options in the summer.

2 great games following around 16 to 20 great games to end the season last year! These two games did not simply come out of nowhere.
