what a dogfight the NW division is going to be all year.... these teams are going to rotate beating up on each other. while no elite teams in my eye, not a weak sister in the 5 either... look at the standings, all 5 within a few points of each other, 3rd, then 7 thru 10.. makes you think, that as they all struggle to stay just above .500, that it could leave the door open one of the teams below this group to sneak in and steal a playoff seed at some point.

The NW isn't making a very good showing against the other divisions. If Chitaco does pick up the pace I don't think there will be but 2 teams out of the NW this year.
The GW in the Chi./Dal. game was an awful turn over by Madano. He skated the puck out to the blue line causing the D-man to rotate down low then tried to stickhandle back into the zone rather than just passing it down. To make matters worse after the puck was stolen off of his stick he just stood there like a kid pouting rather trying to back check, hook, draw a penalty, anything would have been better.

Is the 'CHITACO' team the new one being sponsored by Taco Bell/Pepsico in Illinois? You add them, and the area is totally saturated, AHL teams in Peoria and Chicago, a USHL team in Chicago, and a UHL team in Rockford!

No just everytime they came to town last year they gave us tacos.
I didn't realize that Minny is so banged up right now. Their injury list had 4/5 important players on it. I know they aren't deep enough to stay competitive. Hopefully they can help us out with Detroit tonight.

I just peeked at their score and Detroit has jumped out to a 2-0 lead... yuk!

Yeah great job by Minny to get shutout tonight I'm sure they make up for the lack of scoring when the hang 6 on us again . Does it seem like Detroit wins a lot of game by shear intimadation (sp?).
I just read this...Anaheim has played 17 home games already. That's almost half of their home games in the first 2 months of the season!
We play our 10th Saturday. Our 17th home game isn't until Dec. 30!
From talking to some people this is something that the organization is very happy about. This is a very confident team from the front office to the coaches to the players. They have their eye on the first seed, they know they are a good team and won't be happy with a low seed. They are relaxed but can't wait to get home and climb the standings while some of these other teams start their road stretches.
Didn't want to start a new thread so might as well put it in here but:
I'm sick of this Rory ****. I've even turned off being able to see avatars since so many people have some form of a Rory avatar.
i think it's hilarious, and a good way to expose the idiocy in letting "the fans" decide an ASG. it's no different from a high school student council election. you'd like to think the best people are being voted in, but in truth it's just who has the most friends, or in this case fans. the fact that it's become so viral makes it all the better. when luongo is voting for rory, we've managed to do something pretty huge.
.....Already three coach firings by Christman this year in the Central.....anybody remembering that ever happening before?
Even though there has been a lot of firings, our division is slowly getting better. Chicago has talent, the Blues work hard, the Jackets got a coach that will give them the only thing their team needs, and of course Detroit will perenially be a contender...
I can't believe the FLyers just traded for Zhitnik! Why did the Islanders give him up, and why would the Flyers want another older expensive defenseman? I haven't seen Zhitnik play this year, so I can't comment on who wins the trade. Still, it seems strange for both teams to make this move.
