I appreciate you being civil and trying to offer insight, but if you think goaltending is a problem you have vision problems. Severely.

That is probably the best route to go and fits this roster well considering we're really good on broken plays and unexpected rushes as well as the fact that our goalies are average and our D is mostly defensive but you know that management won't go for that. Or at the very least not go all-in with a defensive scheme.

He's still around?

I prefer Wolfy. At least he was funny to listen to when he was here.

I'd be more than just happy, I'd be ecstatic. Lavi is dumb and we're wasting time with him here.

But the real issue is personnel. Let's face it, when Claude Giroux is your best player, you've got problems. Making him the captain was a huge mistake and he's just not good enough to build a team around. The rest of the package ain't so good either.

Laviolette put me off my breakfast this morning as well.

I could not bear to look at the jam jar... so just had to have plain toast.

You can't build a team around a top ten player in the NHL? That's news to me.

Wonder if Florida will be the last desperate fart of a dying corpse or he will continue on and be given a chance to get out of this? I just cant see them winning a single game under him anymore...it is that bad.

I know you're not big on thinking you might not be right about something, but I'm pretty sure over the past 3 seasons only Stamkos, St. Louis, and Henrik Sedin have more points than Giroux.

Two of those guys are on the same line, and Giroux is the only one of them that plays any kind of defense or has any type of defensive responsibility at all. He's also spends over 2 minutes per game on the PK, while the two from Tampa just cracked :40 per game last year, and Sedin doesn't even break :10.

So let me ask, who are all these better players?

Crosby? Certainly, but he's also consistently injured.

Malkin? He's more talented, but you don't get consistency and he's very bad defensively.

Tavares? Maybe, but I'll wait until he actually starts to produce at the level HF seems to think he's been at for years.

Ovechkin? More talented again, but we'll have to see if he really has gotten back to his old self, or if he's going to have another down year for his standards.

So who out there would you rather have to build a team around? (It's not fair to compare him to a goalie or a defenseman because they don't play the same position).... He's not the best player in the league, and there are guys that are better or similar. However, to act like he's not one of the top players in the league is asinine.

Made me lol.

Anyone catch Lavi's mention of jam at the end of his post game interview?

I mean seriously how much longer can he stick around? Didn't they even have someone in upper management "step down" and to be an additional assistant coach? Specifically if was for d play sometime at the beginning of last year. I mean seriously if you have to start supplementing like that you know somethings wrong.

What I see happening if Laviolette is given his walking papers is that Holmgren steps in to coach the team, at least temporarily. Not that I advocate it, mind you.
