For his standards, yet he still managed to be one of the best in the league. That is a franchise player no matter how you spin it...

They're very similar, however I feel Galchenyuk will be looked at as "THE" guy (at least at forward) in Montreal, while Yakupov will be looked as another spoke on the wheel with Hall, RNH, and Eberle. That's not to say Yakupov won't be/isn't a great player, mind you.

Will Edmonton be in the playoffs next year? Maybe not, but they'll be a contender. Watch Yak pot 30+ goals and 90+ hits. If Perron really licks with Gagner and Yak who knows how much Yak will produce. Especially considering Yak isn't playing on the top line.

Yak was drafted #1 for a reason. Because he was the best guy on the board.

I honestly believe the ideal 1st line should be Hall - Gagner - Yakupov.

They were dynamite together and Hall + Yakupov seemed to know where eachother were on the ice many times. I believe that there should be pairs on the top 2 lines and imo Hall and Yakupov should always be together if they prove that last season was no one off.

Perron - RNH - Eberle should be on the same line together imo, RNH and Ebs have insane chemistry but couldnt put it together last season, its very obvious with these 2 imo. Perron idk much about because he was playing on a very defensive team but im positive he will contribute to that line positively.

I'd say he might not produce at all.

Galchenyuk will see his PP time increase this year so I'm excited to see his production.

4 pts in 2 games so far and 16 pts in his last 15 regular season games.

New season, time to let the discussing begin. No need to be catching feelings

If Yakupov keeps spending the majority of his time with Boyd Gordon, Jesse Joensuu, and Marc Arcobello, then Galchenyuk will run away with this thread this year.

2 games into their 2nd season???

Habs fans will never be happy until it is universally accepted that Galchenyuk is the better player.

Be happy that he was available when you drafted, instead of constantly comparing him to the guy that was drafted before him.

Also...stop saying big C with size if all he does is play on the wing. Prust has taken more faceoffs this year....

Taylor vs Tyler 2.0

For me Yakupov has a much easier time getting into the zone than Chuck but when they have the puck down low it's no contest. Chucks vision, playmaking ability and board play is far superior.

However, I think Yakupov is the more dangerous and dynamic player in the open ice.

Defensively it's not really close, Chuck pays attention to detail and is very sound while Yakupov uses his body to separate and gain posession which is much less effective than positioning and stickwork.

Overall anyone who doens't think this is close enough to go either way is a biased fan or has a personal vendetta against either player or team they play for.

Oilers gotta get Yakupov off the third line, or the Oilers at least gotta get better other third liners. Let him prove himself and shine instead of playing with plugs.

One thing Yakupov has working against him is that Hemsky has looked good to start the season.

Last season Yakupov deserved more ice time Hemsky but wasn't getting it so fans were upset. Right now it's kinda hard to argue against Hemsky being the team's best right winger.

We'll this is hf and on hf it's all about stats, you see habs fans are gonna show you that galchenyuk has better stats and all of Edmonton is going to say how stats don't means anything and so on.

Then when yak is going to have the better stats and Edmonton fans start posting stats everywhere montreal fans are all going to complain and say how those states are useless.

You see here on hf watching hockey doesn't matter it's all about the stats.

Ps. Voted galchenyuk for his better overall game but I love yakupov
