Eller 2 ie étoile de la semaine

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=6...d=nhl:topheads

SECOND STAR – LARS ELLER, C, MONTREAL CANADIENS

Lars Eller
Center - MTL
G: 3 | A: 2 | P: 5
SOG: 9 | +/-: 3

Eller factored in on five of Montreal's seven goals, tying for second in the League in goals (3) and points (5) as the Canadiens split their opening two games. He began the season by recording 2-1—3 in a 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs Oct. 1, becoming just the third Canadiens player since 2002-03 to register three or more points in the team's season opener, and added the game-winning goal and an assist in a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers Oct. 5. The 24-year-old Rodovre, Denmark, native has played in 211 career NHL games, registering 36-46—82 and 165 penalty minutes.

Nice to see him getting some recognition. He was just as dominant near the end of last season and in his first period during the playoffs.

He was also on the ice for a PPG that he didn't assist and obviously didn't get a + for, still, that's what 6 times out of 7 he was on the ice for a goal thus far?

The EGG line as a whole has opened up the season in spectacular fashion.

No surprise, Eller's a ****ing beast. Hopefully that EGG/GOAT line can keep on going and keep getting more ice time.

He's certainly off to hot start. His shooting percentage is unsustainable (as is Gally's), but if he continues to dominate puck possession as he has so far this season (and to the end of last season), he'll be quite the piece for the Habs.

What's cool about this is that he works his ass off. Based on work ethic and attitude alone, he deserves to be a star. I know it takes much more than that to be a star, but he's definitely putting the work into it.

He definitely has the right attitude. He's been excellent thus far and I don't doubt it's due to his work ethic and desire to succeed.

yeah he's a pretty awesome mix of everything. Plays with the tenacity of an energy player but has that potent mix of size, speed and not quite elite skill but very very good.

All he's done is get better since being with us. He knows he can be a helluva player and puts in the work to be so.

Halak would have little value to the Habs at this moment. He's not playing at a high level, he's brittle, and his trade value is considerably deflated. So thanks for one playoff run (although it resulted in getting a lower draft pick),

It resulted in the most exciting post season since 1993.

On topic, it's well deserved for Eller. I seriously hope he breaks out big time this season and shows everyone that the four goal game was no fluke, he has looked as good as that game for 2 games straight now.

From here on, Bergevin should only offer one year contracts.

Glad to see Eller helping the success of the Habs and getting recognition for it.

Hope he keeps it up. I don't expect him to manage to scoring so much or to stay as dominant. But he's definitely understanding and getting a taste of what he needs to do in order to succeed. So I hope he can learn more and improve even more.

Kid deserves the star.
