Who can we get for Perrault and 3rd round pick??

it would be somewhat of a swap but other team ends with with very good pick in return, I know Calgary is interested in Perrault so who do they have playing Centre we could acquire, or are there any good players available from other teams, Keith primeau was offered in trade proposal forum, who else is available, I don't want any prospects from our team included only what I offered, from my Understanding Perrault has lost his job from second line and Begin will be coming in soon so unloading Perrault now is the best solution for BG.

Note: We Only need Centre, with Size so who fits the bill, and player doesn't have to be great offensively, but Defence is first priority from Montreal part

how about trevor linden?
he's big
he's right handed (i think)
he's a center

I was kidding of course

Is Begin a good faceoff man? how good is he? If he's close to Perreault than we can trade him )Perreault), if not we might as well keep him to take important faceoffs in our end in late game situations.

haha claudette nice one!!

We never know these days with all the stupid trade proposals around here... You could have been serious! People have to realize that Perreault has almost NO VALUE!! He's a free agent I think after this year and he's playing on our 4th line!! If we get a 3rd round pick for him I'll be very happy... but according to some people we could get.... SCATCHARD???

This is not NHL 2004!! Perreault doesn't have an overall of 84 and we can't ship it for a good player if we add a pick with him!!

yeh, I agree. And to be honest, I really don't know what we'll get for P. I mean, he's making way too much money as it is (though the season's half done/half started) and I can't see other teams going for him after watching him play on our lower-rung lines. I'd be happy with a miracle, but unless we're dealing with Milbury I don't think anyone would bother. I hope I'm wrong though. Heck, I'd love to see P. turn it around - Brisebois did it...

I remember hearing that he was very good at taking faceoffs when he got picked up by BG. He easily can replace Perreault.

Honestly, I think it's over for Perreault here... and even if he turns it around... There's no more room for him in the top 2 lines unfortunately.

i see more perreault to be just a part of a package ...we can't get a lot for him but with another player , a rookie or a 1-3 draft choice , it could be possible to have someone who will help the team for several season.

I think we should ship Perrault the 3rd and half his salary paid to Calgary for Gauthier (this trade has been rumoured around the board) then ship Gauthier and Kilger to the Isles for Scatchard and Cairns (because the Isles want to get rid of his salary). But this will only work at the deadline when the Isles are out of the play-offs. :p

Don't be so sure the Isles will be out of the playoffs at the trading deadline. They'll have Yashin and Parrish back, and they're not so far out of 8th right now.

Maybe we should keep Perreault (and the 3rd pick) in case that Koivu or Ribeiro gets injured for the next part of the season or for the playoffs.

I prefer to have that insurance in center instead of a Gauthier

At the deadline trade Perrault and Hossa (I'm torn with Marcel and his current slump and lack of progress as a player) for O'Neill? The Canes dumped Kapanen last year at the deadline for this:

Sami Kapanen and Ryan Bast to the Philadelphia Flyers for Pavel Brendl and Bruno St. Jacques.

I think a prospect like Hossa may interest them, although Perreault may not because the Canes aren't in a playoff hunt at all.

Any trade involving Perreault will be to a playoff team looking for a centre specialist (rent a player).

How about a deal with Calgary involving a change of prospects Hossa and Perreault for Nystrom and Gauthier.

Gauthier would be an upgrade over Bouillon. Nystrom would bring some physical presence and agressiveness that we do not necessarily have amongst our prospects. Hossa in my opinion need a change of scenery!
