Still Read and Talbot with Couts? C'mon... Bring up someone more offensive minded for Couts.

While I agree, lets see how this team plays under what never plan Berube has. We can't gauge what happened with Couturier and his linemates until they get out from under that system.

The Flyers are on pace to fire 27 coaches this season, which would set an NHL record.

Luke Schenn is also on pace to win the Norris, scoring 37 goals.

Well I agree on Talbot but this is Read's first time this season with Couturier. Read has been playing well unlike Couturier. Those two also have known chemistry.

I'm guessing Berube wants one last look or so with Talbot on the 3rd line. Most likely will end with Talbot struggling on the 3rd line like he has his whole career.

Schenn/Lecavalier/Voracek sounds promising. Not sure how I feel about Simmonds on the top line, but they need to try something different, I guess.

Giroux with two mediocre skaters doesn't make me happy.

Read has plenty of offensive skill; he's unlucky not to be on the first line. Talbot is a black hole at the moment, though.

I meant it as being with Talbot... who really hasn't done much of anything.

27. And I would say that Jason Garrison has the inside track on the Norris as he's on pace for a record 54 goals and 108 points.

D pairs, today's skate: Timonen-Schenn; Meszaros-Streit; Coburn-Grossmann.

I like that he is putting Coburn+G back together, those guys were a great shut down pairing when paired before.

While I like reuniting Timonen with Schenn, I've got serious questions about this.

Why not:

Timonen-Schenn
Streit-Coburn
Mezsaros-Grossmann

I have reservations, too, but Meszaros and Grossmann have looked like a bad combination.

I don't disagree, but I think that's a lot more about Mezsaros than the pairing.

Agreed. I'm a bit surprised that he isn't getting a look.

Two guys who are terrified to go into the corners on a dump in. Great!

Like AHL or trade? Because trading a 24 yr old with offensive upside definitely seems like the Flyer way.

Really?

I'd be pretty surprised--what kind of trade value does he have at this point?

Mezsaros, Coburn, and Grossmann all seem more likely to move than Gustafsson in my eyes. Heck, if we continue to struggle, we might be looking at moving Timonen to a contender to give the guy a shot at the cup.

Mason was off the ice first, indicating he is starting tonight.

Trade, there's no point of keeping him up in the pressbox. There was rumors of the Ducks talking to us about a young defensemen, my guess is it was him. If we can get a third line player back I wouldn't really mind it personally.
