And Newbury will be the Flyers MVP since he is on a ppg pace.

Newbury appears to be among the scratches with Gustafsson and Gill.

^ Yes. Rosehill was among the 12 skaters with Newbury the 13th forward. It doesn't have to be confirmed until lineups are submitted close to game time to the off-ice official scorers.

It will be interesting to see how Berube manages the bench with his line-ups. I'm not so sure Scotty should continue being on the number 1 line...

G needs some more creative types around him.....

Is Prospal still around? Do we even have any room for such an addition?

You didn't want the Flyers to re-sign Gagne, but you wouldn't mind 38 year old Vinny Prospal? Shame on you, OSBS.

LOL....yeah but Vinny I think would complement G better plus if the rumor is true from somebody who posted on here....Gagne was one big hit away from retirement.

Yea, just messing with ya. They definitely need another top 9 forward. It would push Talbot down to the 4th line, effectively keeping Rosehill from playing, and it would give the Flyers three possible scoring lines.

Shame we couldn't have signed Brunner. He looks like being a steal at $2.5m for two years.

Still breaking up Voracek and G.

Berube, i'll have none of your guff.

You can't do that.

Also G with Hartnell and Simmonds would involve every shot G takes ending up hitting Simmonds in the face, knocking Hartnell down and the puck rolling into the trapezoid.

Yea, it appears he's doing real well. Also, Mason Raymond seemingly could've been had for cheap and he would have been decent on the third line. Hindsight, huh?

I agree that Hartnell-Giroux-Simmonds seems a bit redundant, but I'm not as opposed to splitting Voracek and Giroux. If we were going to tinker with the lines, I wouldn't mind something like this:

Hartnell-Giroux-Read
Simmonds-Lecavalier-Voracek
(Talbot)-Couturier-Schenn

Read's speed and shoot-first style seems a decent counterpart to Hartnell's grit and Giroux's creativity. Voracek and Lecavalier could be a good match. I could be convinced to swap Schenn and Simmonds--but something like that.

The Giroux Voracek combo was the lone bright spot last year. I don't understand splitting them up at all. And why no finish Hartnell never gets taken off that unit is bizarre. At least the second line looks promising.

Because when Hartnell gets in a groove, he becomes REALLY good. He's a slow starter, we have to deal with it. It's likely he still scores 28-30 goals this year.

I don't care if we have a new coach, I don't want Schenn or Couturier as any part of that top six for right now.

Couturier isn't moving from the 3C unless there's an injury.
