Nurse has 5 points in 5 games. This season is where we find out if he has a good offensive game that can be developed.

So it appears Slepyshev was sent down to the MHL

Post-draft Pietrangelo: 29p in 36gp.

And Nurse is a guy touted for his defensive play moreso than offense.

I'm just sayin tho...

Did not anticipate him struggling more than Yakimov. Is it just because he's on a stronger team?

I expected a lot more out of him, hopefully he gets his act in gear.

I'm disappointed in how this is going as well wrt Slepyshev. I did notice though that Ufa has 16 forwards on their roster and that other than Hartikainen (23) and Filatov (23) the only forwards that get ice time are baiscally 25 or older. I may be wrong but this looks to me like a pattern in the KHL, with a few exceptions, they don't like to play the kids very much. So at 19 Slepyshev may be better off in the MHL.

The eastern Division of the KHL is not very high scoring. Slightly less than the NHL I'd say. So if you give a kid 4th line minutes with only a few shifts per period they are not going to put up many points. This is not really intended an excuse for Slepyshev since I have not seen him play, but rather is a real positive for Yakimov.

Hopefully the KHL snubbing will get him interested in coming to NA.

How's Nurse been looking?

Someone should bump the thread on the prospects board about Nurse, I would but the search doesn't work for me and I went through some pages but didn't see it.

Chase scores. Again.

Now has 7 goals and 2 assists in 6 games.

Houck is one guy that isn't putting up points at the same pace.

Wasn't he the one that got clocked in rookie camp? Possible connection.

Anyways, he got his 2nd of the year.

Are Chase and Moroz our highest scoring prospects? I didn't see that coming.

I am curious about Zharkov and how he is doing. Looking at his stats in this thread it does not suggest he is playing well. Can anyone give insight on his play in the KHL?

He is a young guy in the KHL. It is pretty hard to get a sense of how he is playing from posted stats.

But at the same time, Yakimov's numbers are extremely impressive. Young Ovechkin never even cracked .5 ppg in Russia, I don't think.

RSL and KHL are apples to oranges.

Ovechkin had 27 points in 37 games and the RSL is a more defensive league than the KHL. That being said, no sane person expects Ovechkin like production from Yakimov.

That being said, even though it's only 12 games in, Yakimov has around Tarasenko/Kuznetsov production playing on the first line. If Sardachny can turn him into an even average skater, he'll be an NHLer, and if by some miracle he becomes a plus skater, we may have that big 2-way 2nd line center yet.

Greg Chase is on fire wow.

His game isn't over and he has a goal and 2 primary assists

You have to think if he continues producing, he'll get consideration for Canada come Christmas, he can keep up with the best players and brings a chippy physical element that Canada needs.

Love the chase pick. Hopefully he can turn out like a burrows/marchand/Gallagher type player. Unreal 7th round pick tho

Him and Marco Roy are looking to fill those roles.

Anyone think that next year we might have a lot more depth? Nurse, Chase, maybe Marco Roy, Khaira and Yakimov could sure help this team.

I'd be ecstatic if we finally drafted someone past the 1st round that turns out to be useful.
