A decent first, hit or miss 2nd and 3rd. PK sucked again, PP improved. Just like the first two games ... some areas to build upon, some need fixing. It's a win ... the kids contributed ... 45 hours to address the issues before the Leafs skate onto our ice.

I can't believe I'm the only one who noticed or at least posted about the Wild getting away with too many men. I figured this board would be all over it.

And Jones is going to be a stud. No doubt in my mind.

I thought they played very well in the 3rd.

They didn't pick it up until about ten minutes in. A lot of lackadaisical shifts earlier in the period. A cluster of shots .. then minutes without pressure ... then a few shots ... followed by minutes on their heels.

Three games in and Jones is ahead of Weber in ice time. I know that mainly has to do with Weber getting the penalties, but the kid is going to be a superstar.

Forsberg is going to be good as well.

Really this is the worst game we've played as a whole and won. After spotting St Louis the 3 goals we played very well but lost and Colorado seemed to be a good game till the players legs started going. When everyone gels and things start clicking, we might have a really good Preds team this year.

I thought the 3rd was our best period, relatively. None were great by any means.

Good to get the win. Lots of stuff needs to tighten up. Getting the PP going was huge.

Yeah they drew the penalties in the 1st but other than those they were pretty bad. 2nd was just awful all the way around. 3rd was pretty good and the best period they played overall.

2nd period had too much of that "just get it in deep and play safe" feel to it allowing the Wild to control the play. That usually happens when you go up by 2 goals though. Of course the Wild will say they outplayed us but, really we sat back after we went up by 2.

Anyway.

Seth Jones is really unbelievable, really I mean that. We've had some amazingly talented defensemen come through here but none with his maturity and talent at his age. It's crazy how calm and cool he is out there. It's scary how good he might become. We've never had any defensemen with his type of puck skills. Weber's got the shot but not the hands or passing. Zidlicky had the hands but not the shot or passing, Suter had the passing but not the hands or the shot.

Forsberg changed our powerplay.

People need to believe in Ekholm too, another solid game. He's not Seth Jones, but he's far better than Ellis or Bartley. Glad he's playing well.

Bourque is sophmore slumping.

Smith is all flash and no finish.

Hornqvist well, is Hornqvist.

Always nice to beat Liarpold.

I believe Paul Kariya got booed every time he played in Anaheim so we aren't the only ones.

Liked what I saw about the future of our team here.

Hornqvist seems to be becoming a more complete player

Forsberg and Jones both looked legit on the ice can't wait to seem them develop in front of our eyes

Ekholm was solid, didn't hear his named called much tonight but as a defensemen that's generally a good thing

With Josi out Ellis stepped in and didn't get pushed around and contributed on the PP, wasn't amazing but didn't embarrass himself or make our third pairing look suspect.

All in all very excited for the future of the Preds in general. Would be nice to see some consistency in our play as a whole, and some more discipline in terms of not taking stupid penalties but that will improve over the season. Don't get down and out about this team yet folks.

Considering Erat is getting just under 8min per game, I'd imagine he is not happy.

The wild board was rather amusing to read tonight. I believe one poster has declared war on Tennessee. I guess they don't realize how well armed we are.

Loved the soldier tribute tonight. Guy was blown to bits and managed to survive.

I have no issue admitting that I had to wipe some moisture from the corners of my eyes as they continued that tribute and we finally heard and saw that he had survived and was truly an inspiration for us all.

Every single player, coach, and trainer on both teams and the officials were standing and giving him an ovation. It was truly a special moment.

For those of you weren't there. And I may not remember everything correctly. It was hard to see him at first since he was behind me and sitting down. I think they said he had 72 operations and spent three years in the hospital. They said he lost both his legs. So while everyone was cheering for him, (remember no legs) he stands up, some times good things happen.
