If only we could get that Krug kid from Boston we'd have a dynasty.

Again, we did deserve it. I haven't said anything to the contrary. But the dude is still a ****** for doing it and I would have liked to have seen us respond to it.

Standing up for your teammates shouldnt be a ****ing mentality. It should be ingrained into every team. It's a ****ing bond that can't be broken. Yeah we had Dubinsky and Prust as pugilists with chips on their shoulders, but just because they're gone doesn't mean the entire team turns into a bunch of lifeless slugs.

How many goals did it take AV to pull the goalie?

four. most of the goals weren't his fault, however. So it made sense to leave him in.

I don't recall saying that I would trade stepan for him. Perhaps I'm going senile. My point is that the Ranger brass has not put a high enough priority on offensive talent in their drafting strategy.

Why? The team quit around him. AV saw the writing on the walls.

No, your point was literally that Hertl is more dynamic than Stepan. After a 3 game sample-size.

Winnik is a journeyman not a highly touted prospect. Slight difference there.

Obviously I'm not agreeing with anyone comparing Hertl to Stepan or talking about dynamic this or that, but I will just say that comparing him to Krug, or Voros or Winnik is also wrong. Krug was a long shot to even make the NHL. Voros and Winnik were never expected to be scorers. Hertl is a highly touted, very young kid who is expected to be a top line goal scorer and is showing early why he has all the tools to be one. So, not taking sides in the argument (or, if anything, I'm on your side) but just saying, on a different note, I think Hertl is the real deal.

I meant it wasn't like AV was leaving him in to demoralize him. I was justifying that Hank wasn't playing bad enough to truly warrant getting pulled, but the team around him was.

I don't know man. If I were looking at those three games only I'd say he's a Rocket Richard Trophy winner.

All myself and I believe other people are trying to do is encourage a little more realistic look at things. Kreider had an incredible start to his career, and was a highly touted prospect. He's not a bust yet. If small sample sizes like that reflect good a bad drafting choices, than the idea that we don't draft any offensive studs is negated when you look at Kreider's first post season or Stepan's first game.
