Gotta be Lundqvist.

I've got time to hit the bar before this one starts. Nice.

From what I understand from reading Sams blog and I think it also said it on NYR.com, Weekes will be in tonight. I could be wrong but I kinda remember reading that last night. I'll see if I can find the link.

Edit: It isnt definite but yet, just his opinion,
Quote:
Kevin Weekes is likely to be the starter, and why not? The back-up hasn’t had a laugher this year. Of the five games he’s played, two were against the Sabres, and he’s had one each against Anaheim, San Jose, and the defending Stanley Cup-champion Hurricanes. And I thought I had a thankless job (not really).

My money's on Weekes. Hank was Mr. Softy at the end of last game. He's played quite a few straight anyway, I predict a big game for Weekes. Hopefully without letting in that bad first goal, that always seems to show it's face.

They need to come out flying tonight like they did in the first game against this team. If they play smart and I hate to throw out the old cliche but they need to keep it simple. Get sticks in the passing lanes, get the loose pucks, work the corners, dump and chase. They havent been doing these little things in these past few games, and for god's sake if you leading by two or more goals, please I beg tighten up the D and get the W. Penalty's are also a no-no and the PP needs to click. The Sabres gave them a few 5 on 3's over the last few games but the Rangers were unable to capitalize, some of the reason may be the quality PK from the Sabres, but I think most of it is the Rangers just passing it along the boards instead of getting it to the net. That being said i'm keeping the faith, LETS GO RANGERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

Renney plans on starting goaltender Kevin Weekes, who hasn't played since a 2-1 loss to Carolina on Nov. 15 and has appeared in only five games. Weekes started at Buffalo on Oct. 14 and lost, 7-4.

Yeah i remember they came out with the 2 pp goals in like the first 10 mintues but then lost 7-4. I can't believe this is already the last meeting between the 2 this season.
Kind of greatful for that.

If they can win tonight they get 4 out of 8 points vs them, which isnt all that bad.

Man does that new logo suck.

But the team doesnt.

I would think they will convert on the PP tonight, my reasoning is basically because Renney has been saying the PP needs to start working. So I would think that they have been working on it these past few days. If they dont come out flying i'm honestly going to be disapointed they have had off since tuesday and we know Buffalo is going to be well rested and dangerous.

I hope it's not Weekes tonight.

This season against Buffalo-

Weekes
DATE OPP RESULT GS MIN W L T GA GAA SOG SV SV% ENG SO
10/14 @BUF L 7-4 1 59 0 1 0 7 7.01 32 25 .781 0 0
11/05 BUF L 4-3 1 63 0 0 0 4 3.76 28 24 .857 0 0

Lundqvist
11/26 BUF L 3-2 1 61 0 0 0 3 2.93 31 28 .903 0 0

If Lundqvist had the goal support that Weekes had in his two games against Buffalo they could have won in regulation.

Well i read or heard a little ways back that the reason they were doing crappy on the PP, is because they were practicing it and something about how the great Edmonton PP's never practiced it at all because it just confused the players. How that relates to the Rangers (besides JJ and Shanny) is beyond me, but there is a point to be taken there.

Well, they came out flying last time and they lost by 3. Im more interested in how they look the full 60 minutes. Because theres an issue starting to build now - playing with the lead. The Rangers are in the bottom half of the league in winning games after leading through 2.

Maybe they can gain that killer instinct when they have a team down 3-1 or even 2-0 and win those games no matter what time of the game they have that lead. The Rangers are an OK team. They would a SOLID FORCE if they could just put away the opposition in games as such.

Should be a fun game to watch as long as I don't have to hear Rick Jeanerette scream "Top shelf where momma hides the cookies" more than once!

I'll say 4-3 Rangers in OT with Weekes giving up the first goal on the first shot 2:10 into the game!

Hopefully we can come up with a huge win and quite those Buffaloites or w/e there called in there own building. It was painful watching the 2 full sections of Sabre fans celebrate and chant Lets Go Buffalo at our house, so lets show em a taste of there own medicine. Anyone going tonight???? Also if sacrificing a loss tonight means kicking *** on sunday, im all for it................................................ ..........but 4 points out of the weekend would be outstanding work. Lets Go Rangers!
