Absolutely love that moment! I will truly miss Lavy's fire behind the bench, but when it's time to go...it's time to go. Lavy was an excellent coach for this team, but it was time for a change. So long and thanks for the memories. Not sure how this one has not been mentioned yet...

Nothing but great respect for Peter as our coach, He certainly did a fantastic job during the cup run in 2010, and i honestly think he was passionate and proud to coach the Flyers........Wish him the same success Andy is currently enjoying at KC after moving on .

The 2010 run was the most fun I've had as a sports fan. Even beyond the Phillies winning.

Game 7 against Boston is one of the happiest moments of my life.

Best of luck to Lavi

Pretty much this.

I've been calling for his dismissal since last season and in the end I was pretty irritated with him but I appreciate all he did for/with the Flyers.

Probably my favorite coach to ever coach the flyers. Really loved how he won with basically 3 diffrent flyer teams in 3 consecutive years.

2010 was a great year and what he will be most remembered but 2011-2012 was my favriote year. Just a lot of fun being a flyer fan that year and destroying pitt all year and into the playoffs just brought the rivalry to a whole new level for me.

Absolutely right. He was great as our couch but his shelf life as a coach was up. I wish him well.

You have to admit, his time out use was unreal and how far he got us with having such ****** goaltending was pretty damn good. We need to move on and we needed a change. Thank you for that run, and it wasn't your fault that MFL **** his brains out on that OT goal in Game 6.

He was and still is a great coach. But the jar is now out of jam and it's time to throw it away. Thanks for 2010, thanks for embarrassing the ****sburgh Pengwhines in 2011-12, and thanks for telling Steve Ott to go **** himself.

Thanks for 2010, Lavi, the most fun I've had as a Flyer fan and my arteries are still clogged from all that grilled cheese!

Us beating the Pens handily like we did in 2012 was fun as well.

Laviolette had a huge part in one of my fondest memories as a hockey fan (comeback against Boston) so for that alone, thank you!

Lavi did the best he could with these players.
Lavi was not the problem, lack of talent and speed is the problem.
The players failed and the coach usually takes the blame for failure.
IMHO, this group over achieved with Lavi, and will be horrible with Berube as coach.

Holmgren is the architect of the mess of a Flyers team.
Holmgren has provided a basic framework for a team, but his glaring holes negate the possibility for success.
Holmgren has failed spectaculary as a GM, and has fired Lavi to hide his ineptitude.
Holmgren should really have been fired after last season, a new Gm could have decided whether Lavi, was the problem or not.
Holmgren continues to sign 35+ year old players, who are slower and at the end of their careers and then overpays them.
Holmgren ignored the need to develop defensive men for years to the detriment of the club.
Finally, he addresses the defensive woes with top prospects, but they will develop under another Gm after the Flyers miss the playoffs again this year.

Even I won't hold a GM responsible for something he hasn't done.

for the most part he was a really solid coach here. He wasnt always given the players that best fit what he wanted to do and was for the most part did not have a goaltender. In the end he wore out his welcome like most coaches do.
I will never forget the 2010 run and the Pens series. good times.
best of luck Lavi
