Any interest in Myers? If he's ever going to become the player he was destined to be in his Calder year, it's not going to happen unless he's given a fresh start.
Depends what the price is. I think if buffalo is trading Myers, they're going to get a very underwhelming return at this point. His value is probably at its lowest right about now. You may be better off just keeping him and seeing what happens.

Maybe I'm too high on Myers, but I think Buffalo is in a hard place there. His value is at a low, but a change of scenery might spark him to bounce back. Then they'll catch hell for it if it happens.

Myers might be the type of guy that just needs a change of scenery. He has all the physical tools to be a dominant two-way defensemen. The question is, can he ever put it together mentally?

If Buffalo offered me right now...Myers for Couturier straight up - I'd think hard about it

I would not. That's paying high when we should be paying low.

Both are very young players and we are already too strong at Center. Our defense has always been a primary concern.

I'd give up a C not named Giroux or Lecavlier straight up for Myers.

We would be opening a new hole on the team. Does Myers on D replace the defensive void in the forward group? I don't think he does.

I understand the thought process. However, we have plenty of centers. What exactly is Couturier doing for us right now? He's not scoring points. Schenn is a natural center that could easily step into his role if need be.

I'm sorry, but if you think BSchenn could step in and take on the second hardest minutes of any forward on the team and play the PK you just don't understand hockey very well. Couturier is the best defensive forward on the Flyers. That's what he's doing for us. He could also be scoring points on the PP if the management weren't sending Meszaros out there to stink up the joint.

Well, Couturier is playing some of the hardest shifts in the NHL and he's actually staying afloat while doing very well defensively...as a 20 year old.

Schenn is getting much easier shifts and showing nothing that would lead me to think he can take on Couturier's role.

Keeping pucks out of your own net is pretty important to winning games, too; putting up points isn't the only way to judge a forward. Schenn hasn't shown any defensive acumen that leads me to believe he could play Couturier's role.

If there's any role in the top 9 we should want Schenn to take over, it's Lecavalier's #2 centre spot. Vinny doesn't appear to be in any hurry to give that up, though.

Laughton, Meszaros and a 2nd. That'd be the most I'd offer for Myers right now.

You might as well take Meszaros out of there. He probably hurts the value more than he helps it.

Mez gives them someone to replace Myers with for the season and helps with cap purposes. If Mez does well there Buffalo can flip him at the deadline.

I would most certainly he willing to move Laughton for a young defenseman. Someone like Gardiner or Myers would be great.

Morin and Myers together. Yikes.

Meszaros is terrible, he literally has no value at this point. If he did he would've been traded by now.

It was basically dumping our crap on someone else.

Couts will be fine. He's great defensively, and even if his offensive game doesn't come around, you always need a shutdown center. He drives Malkin nuts
