Did he just say that Clowe is tough because he's from Newfoundland?

Depending on where, there might be some distance to that statement. I can't say I know too much about Clowe's personal history but I've got to imagine coming from a family of fishermen in maritime Canada would give you a leg up in the toughness department.

Edit: substance, not distance. Swype keyboard auto correct.

This is true. I know Chico loves to go to bars when he's on the road but oh man...

So anyone have a theory on Chico's "roommate"? Seems odd for a married person to have one of these.

Chico Resch had a hairy flight to Denver. Engine caught on fire and plane was forced to land in Des Moines

Chico: "I thought I had done my last game. I wanted to finish my book so I kept reading."

The Devils are one of the few teams in the league that do not allow their TV crew to fly with the team. Most of the other teams have them fly with them on the team plane. It's some kind of Lou thing.

Chico is one of a long line of great personalities in Hockey broadcasting which is relatively unsanitized compared to other sports.

Win Elliot ("Hello Hockey fans from Canada to the Carolinas) who did the Rangers in the 60s and mostly radio in the days that was mostly what there was.

Johnny Pearson who did color for the Bruins in the 70's.

Canadian guys who just let it rip. Resch is right in that vein. The guys who call Buffalo these days are a little like him.

My favorite recent Chicoism was a few games back they had the graphic up for Cory I think saying he's gone 2-0-2 in his last 4 games and Chico says "He's 2-0-2 in his last five games."

That combined with him trying to figure out how many games were left in the season was hilarious. Math with Chico.

I die on the mat part. He was like we are at game 48 so we have like 20 something left.......it took them a good minute to do the subtraction.

IDK but I was cracking up with Chico talking about the best girls coming from BC, and all Cang can say back is his just announced fiance isn't from BC.

So awkward.
