You lads understand we are 3 games into a new coaching regime on a road trip, frankly I could give a damn about goal differential as long as we collect some points along the way, we're not running a fantasy league here.

I thought we established 81-1 or bust...

So one of the things I'm looking forward to in the AV era is chemistry actually being allowed to develop between linemates, a far cry from Torts constant shuffling. It will be interesting to see if that remains true after a 9-2 drubbing.

Lets Go Rangers!

Last year the Rangers showed up in important games. While the season doesn't rest on tonights game it will tell us a little about what is going on in their heads.

Should be interesting.

If they play great and horrible every other game for this trip, it's perfect.
Will keep them on their toes. To early to peak in October.
Hope the 2nd line will explode tonight.
And that whoever goalie starts, plays 60 minutes.

I know what's wrong with this team.

They seem to have trouble playing teams with animal names.

Tonight could confirm my observations in which case I recommend hunting lessons or watching a few episodes of Duck Dynasty.
If animals are ripping us that bad, I wonder what natural disasters like the Hurricanes will do to us

Fortunately, most all of the kids are in Hartford and fast didn't dress. What kind of example are the vets on this team setting? There were no rookies to demean or pick apart, just vets.

People keep talking about how we are only three games in but when you quit you're a quitter and when you don't defend teammates you lack character. They might come out hard tonight out of pure embarrassment but the problems this team has will be here all year.

I'd like to see Dorsett come out and start a fight like Prust used to do for us early in games and get us going. Somebody needs to get the blood flowing for this pack of zombies! If him or Asham ain't gonna do it then get Haley up here, at least he's a bit nuts, this team needs some crazy! Too vanilla and too soft!

Because he's been so stellar that we actually should have won either game we lost?

The entire team including Lundqvist are responsible for what's going on.

Also, he won't make his decision based on the first three games of the season...

One concern.

Rick Nash.

Who knows if he plays again this season.

I would hope for an update but I'm sure the team will refuse to give one when theres no reason in hell not to.

I was a very vocal supporter of Torts, and still feel like he was the best coach for this very flawed roster. But now that AV is in town, even despite looking like (insert any profane descriptor here; they are all accurate) for two of the first three games, we should still be looking at the positives:

1) It's 3 games, with a new coach and new system.
2) They are still a young team, even with Richards and the like; this will still happen from time to time.
3) a:Boston was 12-9-3 on the road and played for a Cup last year (0.563 win%)
b: Kings went 18-13-10 on the road and won the Cup two years ago (0.561 win%)

It doesn't take a sparkling road record to play for (and win) the Cup. If the Rangers can manage to alternate wins and losses (even bad ones; they all count the same in the standings until tie-breakers), this early in the season while learning the system, having a 9-game road trip to start the season against teams that over the last two seasons every team they play finished higher than 6th at least once, I'll call it a success, no matter how bad they look in losses or how great they look in wins. I said prior to the Phoenix game that 5-4-0/4-4-1 would be an excellent trip, and Rangers fans should be thrill with a 3-4-2/3-5-1 road trip to start the year, given the circumstances. Truth of the matter is, we have no idea what we have with this year's Rangers team until around the 20-game mark, when the schedule starts to balance out. Yes, it sucks to get blasted, but that's why they play 82 games... Stay optimistic, my friends.

one reason i wanted Daniel Carcillo. he might be a ******* on the ice but maybe the Rangers need that ***** on their roster...

Seriously, who are the personalities on this team? Every other team seems to have more oddballs and guys with a screw or two loose. The Rangers just seem very dry and boring, outside of Hank, who else really stands out? Nobody upsets the apple cart and there appears to be more passengers than pilots which is most likely part of the reason they seem so passive and soft.

Jonas Hiller looks like your starting #NHLDucks goaltender for tonight's home opener vs. the NYR.
