Clear message sent early on
If that message is "Matt Hendricks is Trotz's latest infallible plug," then yes, loud and clear.

Bourque has been pretty invisible so far. However, this team needs all the offense it can get.

Same story, different year. Only now we're a high spending cap team

Again, I will never figure out this team. Granted Bourque is off to a slow start, but he DID lead this team in goals before his injury last year. It's not like the rest of the forwards are "lighting it up"!
Again, his confidence will take a beating as the other young players that have had to go through the same thing.
If he was a huge defensive liability, maybe, but I don't see it that way.
Hope you guys win tonight though! Should be a good game! Go Preds

More expensive then I thought it would be. I remember the first time I bought beer in the states i got an 18 pack for 9 dollars. I was so shocked I thought they had made a mistake on the bill.

In Ontario it's illegal to sell a beer for less than $1 per bottle (at a beerstore). So cheapest 18 pack is $19.80 (10.c deposit)

Considering the potent leafs PP, it kind of makes sense. Would still rather see Bourque in there though.

As a Preds fan from Toronto this will be interested, I'll be watching with a lot of my Leafs buddies.

Disappointed Bourque is out though, is he a healthy scratch or is it because of injury?

Been through Toronto once but spent more time in Sault Saint Marie and north of there in the 90's vacationing.
Went to the package stores/beerstores (whatever it's called) and it was certainly a fun experience.
Basically place your order at the register and they roll it out to you on a conveyor belt from the back.
Not sure if that's typical in ONT but I thought it was pretty cool.

Oh, Molson triple X - good stuff. You Canadians do it right.
Wish we could get it down here.

Yep, not sure I agree with sitting him. Dropping a line or two I would understand more.

Yea that's how we used to do it because it was illegal to display beer. But they switched that so that now the Beerstores are walk in and you just walk through aisles of beer and nothing else. Only a handful of old stores still use the conveyor system. Triple X will mess you up good %7.3 you must have been seriously partying that vacation haha!

Bourque has been poor so far, so no problem with him being the odd man out for a game. Hope it will light a fire under him.

If you mean high spending by there are six teams that have spent less than yes. We are a big spending team now. This whole time we have been sold on Poile saying the team would spend to the cap. I honestly think the league in general knew what was on it's way with the cap being lowered. Sure we spent a good bit this offseason but when you look at the whole league overall we are still at the bottom of the list. When the cap goes up next season we shall see if Poile continues to spend or if we just sit around the same number.

With that said GO PREDS!!!

I agree. It should be Hendricks sat out. I have to look for him to ever find him on the ice and I have only noticed him after the play is dead most of the time. Bouque I have noticed a lot more and while he hasn't started out great he is still more talented than Hendricks is. Maybe just maybe Bourque has some swelling in his foot after taking that hard shot in the last game while blocking and he is the easy one to sit because of it.

Any lines yet? I'm guessing Trotz is wanting to get Spaling and Nystrom back together on a line, since they were pretty damn good together initially. Forsberg up to the 2nd line?

Something like?

Wilson-Fisher-Hornqvist
Forsberg-Cullen-Smith
Nystrom-Legwand-Spaling
Clune-Goose-Hendricks

Or are we going to see Nystrom-Fisher-Spaling back together?

So do we see a top 6 spaling or slide FF up to the 2nd line with Cullen and Smith?
Should be interesting.

I hate the media in Toronto and their agenda against "Non-traditional" markets. Funny they created that term but don't realize that we are building our own traditions here. I know no matter what their article will be negative towards Nashville tomorrow and they will be counting empty seats 30 minutes before the game.

I hold nothing against the Leafs or fans of the Leafs. We play Trotz hockey and lose 3-0 Leafs Kessel 2(1PP,1EN), Phaneuf 1 ES

Kinda pissed I won't be there tonight. I was there the last time the Leafs were in town. Love hearing the Canadian anthem too. Oh well I'll be back on Saturday.

That's because you haven't met the entire fanbase....

Why haven't the Leafs won the Stanley Cup in over 40 years? Simple: their initials say it all. "Too Many Losses"

Ah, June - the month of backyard barbecues, graduation parties, and the Leafs working on their golf games.

What do you call a Maple Leaf player in the Stanley Cup finals?
An observer.
