OK just a idea read on

How about grabbing John Leclair from Pitt and hoping that Leclair captures his goal scoring magic with Shanny and Cullen? Waive Hossa or get a middle of the pack pick for him(Orts is taking his spot soon enough anyway and play Orr only in the division and come play offs he won't play anyway(thanks for ruining tuff hockey Gary Bettman) and take a flyer on a great skilled player making 1.5 and just about 1/3 of that is paid already.

I'd rather not go after someone like Leclaire. Much rather bring up Dawes or Immonen but we all no that's no happening.

My reaction to your plan is

Nothing about your plan except benching Orr makes any sense.

If this was five years ago, I'd be all for it. I always liked Leclair and wanted to see him on the Rangers. But at this point, I'd much rather see Dawes or Immonen get the call from Hartford for some added offense.

boo to that whole idea.

Really addresses the concerns about the 2nd line center and weak D, huh?

John LeClair's problem is not his linemates, it's that his body is no longer letting him play at the level he used to be able to play at. Nothing is going to change that, so the answer is NO.

And you want to bench Orr why? ok i asked about Leclair for a playoff push and pp guy and the answer was no which is great but your Orr bashing every day is just childish

Who is Leclair going to play for on the power play?

Hossa isn't going to be waived soon for Orts the Rangers nornally carry 22 players they wouldn't need to waive anybody...If they did bye bye Kaspar who isn't even playing..

Leclair was great at one time but he is finished..

Colton Orr can't skate and we don't bash him enough on this board...

I didn't bash him I said he should be benched. Renney uses him for 2:00 a game and he becomes useless. There is no point to him playing. You can disagree all you want, but you know I'm right.

You are right in that he plays 2 minutes...but where you are wrong is that just about anybody who gets that role on the 4th line wing won't see too much ice time and so if you think about it, he probably can make the most use out of those 2 minutes as compared to anyone else

you forgot to mention..

Orr needs to use his stick for balance and probably losses more fights than he wins. ..

Renney is another problem all together. I've spoken to you NUMEROUS times about this issue and you know where I stand. When Orts comes back Colton will not play.

But the focus of this thread is John LeClair and the merits of adding him to this team.... and there are none. Case closed.

Orr actually has won more fights than he has lost. As Renney said the other day, the team has a better feel to it and feels more protected with Orr dressed. And of course...who else can make a better use of the 2-5 minutes that they will play a game? If you can find someone...then fine...but until then...let the guy play

even without colton orr they still play the 4th line 2-5 mins, even when Dawes was in his spot. If Callahan or Dawes or (insert rookie) is gonna play Id rather have him get 6-10 mins on the 4th line or some time at the end of a pp or pk. Orr is good for 2-4 mins just in case for protection. Would u rather have Dawes, Callahan or Orr get 2-4 mins??? Id rather have Orr. Dawes or Callahan should get more than that or get top minutes on the Wolfpack. No point having Callahan get just 2 mins of ice, Dawes already knows about that as does Pock when he played forward.

Because we're up near the cap ceiling I'm not sure a $1.5 mil contract is worth the risk. When Orts comes back we're at $42 mil if I'm not mistaken.

Pass on LeClair. When Orts gets back, wait and see how he plays before you waive anyone. Hossa has proven he's worth something the way he's played of late, even though he's not able to score. Orr is OK in the 2 minutes that he plays, only problem is that Renney is not comfortable playing him more, and that limits the amount of time the 4th line gets, and because of this he dosen't roll 4 lines and doubleshifts some players. The team should improve in this area, but it would make sense to get a legit 2nd line Center first, or an old vet that has lost his ability to play effectively

Ok so lets just say anyone Renney puts on the 4th line he doesn't want to play more then 4 minutes, Hollwegs ice has dropped,Dawes never got a shot and Hall other then the other night was dropped way down also.
