FWIW, Carlyle just described it as "two big guys going into the boards and Franny got himself in a bad position".

Didn't seem too critical of it.

Good game guys. All the best the rest of the way. Classy fans.

Good thing the Predators don't play Bernier every game. Pretty annoying how he never fails to dominate them.

Good game guys. Was really looking forward to seth jones. I think he'll come along nicely, especially playing a guy like Weber on his side, there's no one better.

Other than that, god damn the game was boring as hell lol.

OK cool. I'm pretty sure no one on this forum really cares about Corsi rating at the moment.

No kidding. We're just looking for something to be positive about. Don't need the stat gurus to come in and wave their junk around to quantify things for us. You won, now get outta here, lol!

good game guys, you guys are seriously good no matter what the score says. I thought you outplayed us most the game tbh and out net minder just saved us (again)*. anyways you had me scared most of the time it was 0-0 cause you dominated in our zone. Wish we played you guys more cause its definitely a different atmosphere in these western buildings.

Later

What did you guys think of Franson's game tonight? How much has his game evolved since he was with you guys?

I have my own opinions, but I'd be very interested to hear from you all.

good offensive skills. great shot as he always had. defensive play has improved, will play the body a little. still a liability at times. 2nd pair defenseman, PP "point shot get it on net" guy

God I hate the Leafs.

God I hate the Preds right now. Couldn't score if we we were throwing hundreds at a brothel.

damn.. reading the preds facebook... and usually there are a rare "new coach" post...but just about everyone is calling for trotz to be fired. granted, irrational and probably unintelligent fans saying so doesnt mean he should be fired or will be. but i think no neck's seat is warm right now.

and I'm not exaggerating either

I was at the meet and greet a few months ago and my jaw hit the floor when I saw him not on skates. He literally looks like a 5th grader.

I looked at my buddy and go "that guy plays in the NHL?"

To be honest, it's pretty hard to know if Franson would have taken the steps he has if he stayed in the Predators organisation.

I have a ton of respect for Nashville as an organisation.

Nashville does have a track record of developing great defensemen.

Franson didn't need a change of scenery. He was what it took to get rid of Lombardi and that contract. At the time Franson was the most expendable player with actual value that Nashville had.

Ellis. We should've just waived Lombardi anyways.

I don't think we could have waived him. Wasn't he on LTIR? Aren't players on LTIR unable to be waived?

From what I recall from Preds fans at the time, the trade had to do with getting rid of Lombardi's salary than it had to do with Franson needing any kind of change in scenery. Franson was the only realistic option to part with in order to make that Lombardi trade happen.
