Eh, he's always had horrible rebound control.

Hank is the best goalie in the NHL, he will come back. I know you guys are on the edge, but it's gonna be fine.

He is an elite goalie for a reason.

are his shoulder pads smaller as well? when he drops down it looks like there's alot more space up top compared to last season

also does anyone have a gif of Lundy trying to play the puck when he skated way out of his net?

Lundqvist has a bad stretch of games and all the haters and critics come out to talk about how overrated the most consistent NHL goalie for almost a decade is.

It will be nice when he is standing on his head again and people crawl back in to their holes. I know how Devils fans felt now when jealous people took any opportunity to **** all over Broduer and attempt to downplay his skill.

Convenient timing for the critics.

poor guy -- he might now actually have to make a save as opposed to butterflying and blocking a shot.

(that goes for all goalies, not just Lundquist)

Ok now ... wow ... Hank is not the best, but then Rinne is ? ridiculous.

I'm not going to defend Hank, because at this point the best thing to do is, sign him, deal him, get great return. And every game we stink this scenario gets more unlikely.

If he resigns 8 mil + ,this team just signed its own death sentence.

But Rinne? ***** please. He's done, yes I said it!

The new guys are coming, Varlamov, Bernier and so on, young and hungry. Yes I said it!

Someone called it. The thread title invited other teams fans to think they were right about Hank's pads being too big

In what absolutely retarded way has the smaller pads been the problem? He let in what? 1 5-hole goal?

{Mod Edit}

Then again what goes around comes around and I think we're all guilty of similar behavior at times.

Very true

At least we have other team fans saying it's not the pads

I'd like to be the 2nd Devils fan on this page to agree it's not the pads.. Hank is a world-class goalie and to say a few inches of padding makes this much of a difference is just disrespecting his skill level.. He will be back to top form shortly, sometimes goalies just struggle a bit

Isles fan coming in peace.

Here's the short explanation of why the pads *may* well be affecting his play (for now).

A shooter has 5 targetted areas to shoot at: top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right and of course the 5-hole. For HL, the 5 Hole has been virtually eliminated in prior years, allowing him to focus and process a shooter's angles as relates to the other 4 targets primarily. Now he needs to adjust to that 5th target area being more available to the shooter and it's going to take time to fully adjust. It affects his reaction to all shots.

I think we all know he'll be able to make that adjustment. It may never be as easy as it was with the larger pads, but he isn't going to look so out of place and it won't take that long, either.

They already have the experience of a so-called "elite goalie" letting in miraculous goals /as it was proved in: sweden vs belarus in the 2002 Olympics/
