For those who have seen a recent practice...

What exactly does AV have the Rangers....what's the word......DO during a practice?

Drills? Strategies? Any of it? Do they even lace the skates? Chalk talk?

Please inform, the last few games made me curious.

I picture double doors with a sign that says "Official Rangers Practice Rink: Authorized Personnel Only" and then behind the doors is a burlesque scene with AV, the Rangers, a pile of boa waving girls at the back corner table etc..Sather walking around with the cigar laughing all the way to the bank...

Practice is like a party for this team! They've got streamers and balloon animals. I hear they're gonna hire a clown for next week.

Seriously though, what the hell have they been practicing? Turnovers? Blown coverage?

It looks like they've been practicing a system that doesn't work in today's game. It's totally exposed, it might work in the Euroleagues or something, but this crap isn't easy on the eyes to say the least.

Whatever it is, at least this year the players are having more fun and don't have that mean guy reminding them to work hard.

What do you mean by seen a recent practice? Practices aren't open to the public and/or televised.

The system?

The system a coach has used in Vancouver for 7 years that included multiple President's Trophies doesn't work in todays game? Ok.

More like the players don't work.

He didn't watch any tape in the off-season because he wanted everyone to have a "clean slate".

That's a GARBAGE excuse for not being prepared...PERIOD.

But yeah, obviously the players are garbage, also.

I asked this in the GDT. What exactly is AV's "system?"

Seriously.

This "new system" ******** is getting completely out of hand. They're ****ing professional athletes, transitioning to a style of play that is a little different doesn't yield these results.

For the record you could ask the same question about what they practice last year. I jokingly posted that question many times. The players on this team are ****ing morons, that's the answer.

They split into groups of threes, each in it's own breakout room and then Hank visits each room to stimulate the conversation on all the reasons they enjoy their new, "less restrictive" coach!

This was just heard coming from Ranger's practice:

Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew
Cover it with choc'late and a miracle or two
The Candy Man, oh the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good

Who can take a rainbow, wrap it in a sigh
Soak it in the sun and make a groovy lemon pie
The Candy Man, the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good

The Candy Man makes everything he bakes satisfying and delicious
Now you talk about your childhood wishes, you can even eat the dishes

Oh, who can take tomorrow, dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream
The Candy Man, oh the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good

The Candy Man makes everything he bakes satisfying and delicious
Talk about your childhood wishes, you can even eat the dishes

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Who can take tomorrow, dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream
The Candy Man, the Candy Man can
The Candy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
Yes, the Candy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man
Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man
Candy Man, a-Candy Man, a-Candy Man

AV doesn't "have the rangers do" anything. He just tells them to go out there and be creative because they're all special people who offer the world a lot.

Well if they are morons then why ask them to think faster on the ice then they can't?

Maybe the players are slow? They can't grasp a simple system...

Lots of overreaction lately. If the team looks the same in December we should probably be hitting the panic button.

At the end of the article they point out that they don't know what AV we'll do with a lead. He played a trap at the end of the Kings game.
