400 pts for Markov

Congrats...

5th on the all-time Habs D list.

I think he's the third fastest Habs D to hit that milestone (after Robinson and Lapointe).

He's by far the most under-appreciated player in here.

Behind only Savard, Harvey, Lapointe, and Robinson for points by a Habs defenseman. It's possible he will finish the season in third place, and almost guaranteed he passes Savard this season assuming he stays healthy.

At the rate Subban is going, how early can we expect him to hit that milestone?

I can see him playing 4 other years including 2013-2014 hopefully with the habs in an increasing limited role. If I'm right, he'll play PP and and at least third pairing and will easily reach the 500 pts cap. Not bad for a late pick hehe

Hell yeah Markov!

Still can't believe how badly he got robbed of goals last night by.. MacDonald. What a save that was.

If he got 50 points a year it would take him just under 6 years to hit that mark.

Definitely. And, don't forget...PK Subban will always go for it (he'll go for 80pts, 90pts, and then 100pts in one season...always setting new goals for himself...no one should dare doubt his mega talent and his huge heart).

PK Subban:
<Norris winner (and many more)
<I predict a Cup or two (or more! let's just hope Bergevin doesn't **** it up...he should have been signed to a 5-6-7 year contract last season no matter what any of you say)
<Hall of Fame? It was made for dmen like Subban.
(the NHL wished it had more entertaining dmen like PK Subban).
<Will #76 be retired...count on it he just better never get traded or I'll be ****ing more than pissed).

Markov:
<Norris? you should be able to deliver in the playoffs to win a Norris.
<does anyone have any of his playoff highlights...I dare you to find some, but of course you will try to change the subject!
<playoff warrior? are you kidding me?!
<regular season when healthy...good/great. Playoffs? Invisible and/or injured or just plain invisible.
<IF/WHEN we win a CUP (again)...Markov will not be a part of it as a top 4 dman...I guarantee that.
<Will I miss Markov when he retires? I miss McDonagh (we all do!)...I will never miss Markov and his ****ing NTC.
<I've seen so much from McDonagh in only one playoff series VS Markov's entire career playoff games put altogether...not kidding.
<good dmen are not only good in the regular season unless you're a Leaf fan and gave up (after 1967) on seeing your team go far in the playoffs.

It's all about Subban.
Markov? No, but nice try.
Next.

PK Subban...Tinordi...and the rest that will help our Habs win in the playoffs and get us closer to a CUP...bring it! (time to start building a real top 4 d-core). Time to start winning in the playoffs.

Go Habs Go!! (Go Subban Go!! Go Tinordi Go!!).

p.s.: while Markov is still a Hab...I'll try to ignore the fact that he was never a playoff dman and just appreciate what he can do in the regular season (trying to be positive while we still have him! I do like his outlet passes but have not seen those in awhile now!).
you should rename yourself Mr Subban...

seriously, that love affair with P.K. (or any other player) is kind of unhealthy, you might want to have it "checked out".

was thinking about this earlier. He's two seasons of 50 points and about 30 goals away from cracking top 10 ALL time habs dmen in goals & points

Markov to me looks like the Markov of old. Maybe he's still a half step behind what he was 3-4 years ago, but he's making a big impact out there. If Subban wasn't putting up the points he is, everybody would be talking about Markov's play. The numbers don't shine...4 GP 0-1-1 but +4 and 24:51

I just hope they don't wear him out early like last year.

He's going to destroy it. Provided that we can get him to sign with us of course.

How do you figure he looks old?

He's playing like he did before all the injuries. Whatever he's lost is speed he makes up for it in smarts. If you take him out of the lineup he would leave as big a hole as with Subban.

I'm just glad we have Markov and Subban at the same time on the team, two fantastic players in their own rights. We are currently witnessing a passing of the mantle of no1 Habs d-man, the best Habs player of the 2000s to the best Habs player of the 2010s!

I know you edited your post (thank god, that was horrible) but really, GTFO of the ''Markov makes a notable achievement'' thread if you don't want to talk about Markov. What is it with people who can't appreciate more than one player per position? Its a team game, and I'm glad we can count on these two excellent defensemen!

On a very unrelated note, that Chevrolet ad that keeps invading my screen whenever my mouse ever so slightly passes near it seriously pisses me off. I swear I'll never buy a Chevy (not that I ever intended to lol).

Markov is still a very good player. Perhaps not an ideal no1 anymore but still a reliable top2. He'll probably get his 50 points again.

Subbanlove, as unhealthy as it might be, is perfectly normal. I feel it as well.

and those arent just ANY names on that list, hall of famers and jersey retiree's , only thing they got on markov is championships so good for markov, imagine whered he'd be if he hadnt missed the equivalence of 2 seasons, sheesh

and yeah, hope subban shatters all of them. feels good. currently at 120 pts.

Larry Robinson
883
Guy Lapointe
572
Doug Harvey
447
Serge Savard
412
Andrei Markov
400
Patrice Brisebois
371
Jean-Claude Tremblay
363

say PK averages 60 points for the next 10 years which is reasonable, would put him at 720 at 34 years old, damn robinsons point total is impressive

He's looking better this year. Hopefully last year's problem was just the condensed schedule.

Though after the first four games last season, he looked like a Norris candidate.

He had been playing regular games all fall in the KHL, he was already in game shape compared to most other players.

Which also explains why he looked a bit more tired at the end of the season, he was one of the only ones having played a full regular season.

Only?

I thought he had like 600 points, but then again I dont follow Habs.
and people talked about retiring his number ?
Zubov deserves more to get his number retired by Dallas than Markov with Montreal.
But, I respect the dude.

I agree Montreal shouldn't retire Markov's jersey. However Montreal's group of retired players is a ''bit'' more exclusive than Dallas'. To put it mildly, considering the Habs have went trough several dynasties and two dozen cup wins. Getting one's jersey retired in Montreal is far harder than in any other team or getting in the HHOF.
