I sure hope Kelly has his eyes wide open now. Foles has done nothing but play well and continues to prove he should be the QB of the future for this team. So he can't run, big deal.

I can just hear Merrill Reese in my ear when TB screwed themselves on that 4th down play: "They jumped!" as a reverse of fortune in that game they lost to the Bills. Even though they were ruled to have been lined up in the neutral zone.

Foles is playing against a good defense here.... 13th ranked defense. Can't take away what Foles has done. Also not his fault Vick is hurt...again.

I meant zero negativity toward Foles with that post. I should've been clearer.

Oh sorry. I remember someone here was pretty pro-vick en regards to anything with the Eagles. My mistake.

I want Foles to play next week. The big question for me is if we are gonna use our first round pick this year on a QB? (Regardless is Foles plays well or not)

It will all come down to if Chip thinks Foles can run his offense efficiently enough despite his lack of speed. Because if Mariota and Hundley declare, there are 3 (Boyd) QB 's in the draft that would fit his system.

Yup that is true, there are gonna be some serious difference makers on defense coming out of this year's draft which makes me cringe a little too.

I think the Eagles find a way to get two picks in the first round. Don't know what they'll move though to do so.

They need that OLB that every good 3-4 team has. They were eyeing up Dion Jordan and missed out last draft. Anthony Barr is a stud, but barring a collapse, they have no shot at him. Everyone will point to the secondary being awful (they aren't good), but the biggest concern to me is a lack of pass rush. They bring four, they get stoned. They bring six, they get stuffed. A good pass rush is the best pass defense in today's NFL. Barwin is a nice player, I like him, but he shouldn't be your number one threat. Cole is done. Graham has been quiet, and Casey Matthews is the other backup (enough said). They need that guy on the backside that is going to force an offense to gameplan- to double him or leave their LT on the island.

As much as they could use that QB of the future, they are averaging almost 30 points/game with hardly any additions from last year. Who knows. Maybe Foles goes on some historic run and QB isn't even a question. I don't think it's likely but you never know. Bottomline, this team is going to score points with Chip at the helm. They still have so many needs. They could go in a number of different ways. You aren't going to get a stud OLB in free agency, you have to draft those guys. The QB class has the potential to be very deep. They all won't come out but their will be an opportunity to get both. There is still a long way to go. Some of this will play itself out. Should be fun.

I think Foles needs to play because one of three things happens. He flops, we suck, we draft a QB. He does well, we do well, we try to build around him. He does well, we do well, Kelly doesn't believe in him so we flip him and draft a QB. Any way you look at it, he has to play for them to move forward as an organization.

As FLYguy said they need a stud OLB to rush the passer, they need a safety or two, they need a corner, they need D line help. They basically have role players in place on D, but need the true standout players to become a good defense. But none of that matters if they think they need to draft a QB. They need to find out for sure what they're going to do, and the only way for that to happen is to play Foles and see what happens/
