Raffl just looked like an NHL player to me. His speed was noticeable and so was his compete level.

The other thing about that game was how great Brayden Schenn looked at C again. I'm rethinking whether it's wise to make a LW out of him when he played so well down the stretch last year at C and then again vs. Detroit.
I agree about Schenn.....I don't like him at wing at all. His game is more suited at C where he gets to roam and use his physical play to create havoc.

People are going to freak, but here's my lineup when Vinnie and Hartnell are back:

Hartnell-G-Voracek
Raffl-Lecavalier-Simmonds
McGinn-Schenn-Read
Talbot-Couturier-Rinaldo
(Rosehill-Hall)

If Berube wants to roll 4 lines playing at full tilt forecheck and also backchecking hard, this is the way to do it. Couts will get enough icetime on the PK and PP.

Timonen-Coburn
Streit-Schenn
Grossmann-Gus

(Meszaros-Gill)

Schenn's not good enough defensively or on faceoffs to be a 3rd line center.

This is valid.....his D at center is not up to par yet but I do think he is still better suited at C

Put Vinny on G's wing. Schenn 2C, Couts 3C.

Simmonds/Couturier/Raffl or McGinn

I think Vinny needs to be on the RW if he is playing wing.

The "grinders" aren't really playing like grinders though. Hartnell and Simmonds aren't crashing the net like they used to and aren't working as hard along the boards (especially Hartnell). McGinn is playing a hard-nosed game and that's why he has 3 goals.

It's $1.75M not $2M, who cares what he's paid? The cap is going up after this year.

Rinaldo can't play the PK like Talbot so no he can't replace him.

Agreed. Besides if Rinaldo replaces Talbot then who replaces Rinaldo, being as though they are on the same line.

Rosehill or Newbury...no thanks. Talbot is a great 4th liner but nothing more, that doesn't mean he's not worth 1.75mil though.

Still brings more than Newbury, Hall, Rinaldo, Rosehill, and Mathers combined.

Well then you are an idiot. Talbot is much more valuable than all of those players.

I rather not have Giroux on the PK & Talbot is much better than him on it too.

Newbury, Hall, Rinaldo, Rosehill, & Mathers probably couldn't score 5 goals combined.
