Koivu gets injured? It would be the end of the world. We already dont have a 2nd center and if our captain is injured, it would be catastrophic. He's the heart of the team, im pretty sure Ryder and Latendresse wont be able to produce without him as their center.

So I hope Gainey feels the urge to get another good center to back up Koivu and make the second line work.

Trade Kovalev and your 2nd line prob will be fixed.

Yeah, that would fix ALL our problems. Do you even read what you type? Or are your eyes fixated on Perezhogin's ***?

How to fix the second line? By emptying it, wow, brilliant.

Come on guys, he obviously meant trade Kovalev for Malkin to help our 2nd line.

Yeah; on Yahoo! Fantasy hockey, Malkin plays C/LW, so that does settle 2 out of 3 positions on the line.

Sweet, let's go out and get Mike Knuble, he is listed as C/LW/RW so we can have a pretty awesome 3rd line right there, or actually he would probably be a nice complement on the Malkin line. He probably would be good with Koivu too.

In all seriousness, too bad he signed with the Flyers, I would love to see Knuble on the Habs.

He wanted to trade Kovalev and a 2nd to Pitsburg for a 1st... That alone speaks volumes of his knowledge when it comes to hockey... If he were the Habs GM they would be battling with Columbus for the worst team in the league. Just ignore him.

Edit: Even though the Habs are weak down the middle, if most teams 1st line center gets injured, they will be in trouble. There are very few teams in the league that have a 2nd line center good enough to fill a 1st line center role.

Trade <Insert One Of Our Most Valuable Players Here> and your <insert lie>

Sorry but no. You won't get anything spectacular for Kovalev. Infact you won't get anything even equal. So why trade him? He's a useful asset to our team. Kovalev isn't some Richard Zednik who just stops performing and never performs again. I think you people really don't realize just how important Alex Kovalev is to our team.

Without Kovalev, the habs have nothing that even resembles a superstar on their team. They need that one guy that other players (primarily the other teams defense) either back down to, or get beaten by. You don't throw away a player like that. There's no other player on our team who compairs in talent. Come playoff time mark my words, you'll miss Kovalev/Souray/Higgins/Koivu/Downey/Markov/Komisarek guaranteed.

You don't have kovalev you don't have a star forward.
You don't have Souray you don't have a star d-man.
You don't have Higgins you don't have a star youngster.
You don't have Koivu you don't have ANYTHING.
You don't have Downey you don't have enough backup when your teams getting beaten on.

You don't have Markov you don't have a good two-way d-man.
You don't have komisarek you don't have a solid stay at home defensemen
You don't have Bonk there goes a lot of our PK power.
You don't have Pleks he's going to go to another team and play really well the next couple of seasons.

You don't have Lat/Kost you don't even have a rookie.

You lose Streit, you lose a promising defensemen.
You lose Rivet, you lose the heart of our team and a veteran.
You lose Huet, it's over
You lose Abeischer, You bring up Halak/Danis.

You lose Johnson, You'll regret it when he helps another team win the cup.
You lose Perez, you lose young talent and speed. You lose a guy who is going to be HUGE in a few seasons.

Murray can go for all I care. He seems like a chill guy but he's not good for our team.

You lose Begin, you lose a guy who had a bad season start, but could have a great finish. (And he is a good 4th liner, not his fault Murray/Downey support him).

You lose Samsanov, you lose the possibility that he could've been huge for us in the playoffs.

Bottom line: Ryder could bring it back and get a 30g+ season. Right now, doesn't look so good. I say, package Ryder/Ninimaa together.

Well Koivu has not played many full seasons so I am expecting he will miss a few games. I hope he does not (knock on wood) but it is likley he will. This is yet another reason Higgins must get a chance at centre when he comes back. Higgins would be an acceptable replacement for Koivu if he were to miss a few games.

Gainey is already supposed to working on a trade to get help at the center .

Higgins is close to comming back .

Kovalev likes to be the number one , so he would stop to takes free days .

All the team would work harder .

Bonk could also be use in the first lines

Lapierre can play the 4 th line

everything that was bad last season was because Ribeiro , and Ribeiro is now with another team , so why do you think that we could have any kind of problem ?

step one ;

see the little smilly at the end of the sentence .
Ask yourself what it could means
Reread the sentence , keeping the smilly in mind .
Say " ho ! it wasn't serious "

step two ;

ask yourself is the meaning of your " are you his brother " was indicated for this particular situation .

Ask yourself if a " are you his brother ? ", being yours or from someone else , has ever been great in a conversation

Ask yourself if it isn't childish to make that kind of comment , that finally don't mean nothing , and if they aren't the weapons of those who don't have nothing else to bring exepted those used sentences .

Step three ;

get a life ...

Thank-you!! Merci!!

I really hope Carbo gives Higgins (at least) a 3-4-5 game try-out as center (hopefully more)...

For:
1) insurance (we hate injuries, but...it's better to be prepared...remember '06 playoffs? Williams stick to Koivu's eye...we had no more "playoff/warrior" centers after Koivu).
2) It's good to go into playoffs with 3 capable centers in case of injury (Koivu, Higgins, Kovalev) for our many wingers. Try it now (different trios) for that
"2 line" chemistry/magic before playoffs, also before trade deadline...
3) if Higgins is our solution...no more shopping around (we don't have to trade one of our players)

I think most habs fans would know what would happen to this team without koivu.

We've had enough reminders over the past several years that this team lacks a secondary center who can fill as a temporary 1st line guy in koivu's absence.

This year is no different. Although our depth is much stronger than the previous years, we still know in the back of our minds that koivu is irreplaceable on this team even for a temporary basis.
