If we sign him to a 1 year/$1M or less contract or something like that, I can live with it. If it's anything else...

If Dolan is building a space shuttle to transport half the roster into deep space, then yes, bringing in Bryzgalov is a great idea.

I was originally aiming for the coaching gig but if the situation requires, I'm ready to play backup

Are you guys kidding about not being on board with this for the right price? He's put up better/even numbers to Biron every year as a starter in the NHL. His NHL numbers in recent years look like Cam Talbot's AHL numbers. Bryzgalov isn't the kind of guy you pay a huge contract to and base your team around, as he proved, but the guy is still a solid goaltender and could give you 3-4 years of very good backup play.

Take some of the pressure off the guy, reduce his role. I'm sure he'd recognize that the guy in front of him is one of the best in the world. I think he'd probably like to take a step out of the spotlight and just be free to be his weird self in peace without the spotlight of being a starting goalie in a major market.

Really? It seems to me that locker room is full of stiffs and an injection of Bryz could only do good things for the team. If anything it makes post game shows worth watching again because I can't stand anymore interviews from Captain Cliche.

the locker room cancer in phili was hartnell, not bryz... hartnell is the guy that shook his head and cursed at his own goalie when bryz let in a so-so goal (around the winter classic i believe) that came out of a complete defensive lapse. get it str8. they gutted before bryz was signed there(rumor). bryz would be a good grab as a backup if the price was right, but i doubt it'll be where he wants it and if we overpay on him it's a huge waste of cap because he's unreliable and you don't want a backup that's super hot one night then the next has a 5 hole the size of the holland tunnel.

There is always something going on in that Philly locker room. Even back in the early Lindros days there were rumors and horror stories.

We could sign him and he does really well in his 20 games or so . Even if both goalies do well....we could still miss the playoffs and Bryz could be trade bait for a team that needs a goalie because of injuries or what ever ...could fetch us a 2nd round pick ! I think he is worth a shot . Goalies are all weird anyways...he is just a bit weirder than the rest .

I'm very okay with this.

I don't think it's going to happen, but if it did I'd be okay with it.

There are plenty of goalies in the NHL today that would have been torched behind that Philadelphia team last season too. And it's not like Bryz was sporting a 3.5 GAA, he was at 2.79.

I'm okay with Talbot, and I'm okay with Bryz. Love Marty, but I'm happy he's not the backup anymore.

Sather has spotted something special in Bryzgalov that nobody else has seen.
Just another facet of Glen's Golden Touch.

This better not happen.

Bryz is actually solid as a backup. When he gets more than limited exposure he tends to implode.

Well, if he's cheap enough, does it matter? A capable back-up is important.

Everyone seemed to love him in Anaheim and Phoenix?

Just because he didn't fit in Philly's douchey locker room doesn't make him a cancer.
