Grossmann took the bait and Coburn had to cover his man too. Giroux also should have been in the slot instead of coming from behind the net. Regardless, it was ugly.

Team needs a Pronger like leader.

Unless we are trading for somebody who can take the pressure of the media, and overall lead the team through rough patches, I'm not for any stupid trades.

McGinn, Lecavi and Giroux should roll as a first line.

Fixed.

The weird thing with Coburn is that he has more tools to be successful then a lot of players in the NHL yet he's so inconsistent and regressing. He's big, a great fluid skater, has a long reach, **** for brains, etc.

Good: mason McGinn team play in the first 2 periods
Bad: old flyers showed up in the 3rd
Ugly: our pp, our inability to score, our record, our brain farts

Our offense is so bad right now and we don't have the type of team defense to win 1-0 or 2-1 games.

No reason to trade Couturier unless it's for a young defenseman with similar potential.

It may take him a while to become a useful offensive player, but trading him now would be a mistake.

There's quite literally no positive to this team right now beside Mason.

I keep hearing "we gotta shoot the puck, that's how goals go in" from the team and staff in post-games but that's not true at all. I wanna scream at the dumb ****s that we need maintained pressure, cycles, and quality chances. They're already getting shots they're just poor quality ones and usually the one and done type.

All I know is if Harts gets automatically placed back in the top 6...gonna pull my hair out.

McGinn needs to stay for the time being.

He used to have a pretty good shot too. Ever since he took that puck to the face in the playoffs he's gotten worse and worse to the point that he just plain sucks.

Our leaders are not leading. Giroux has 1 point I think? And Timonen has been atrocious. We will all show up and keep cheering the boys on, I think it's time they give us something to cheer for.
Well said............The lads are gripping at the moment, i think one big game just might get the confidence going and things will start swinging their way.

Well at least they stopped the penalties other than Grossmann's hook.

I'm flying down on Thursday morning to catch the Pens game on Thursday night, before making my way to NYC on Friday. Seriously, just ****** timing.

I think the thing that pisses me off the most is that I feel the atmosphere will be extremely underwhelming. I've been to two Flyers/Pens games in Philly and the atmosphere makes the experience. Being 1-6, I feel like it just wont come close to comparing to the other games I've been to.

Well at least after Thurs we can take a time out for a week, sad thing is we could be 10 pts out of a playoff spot already.

Players with no goals in first 7 games:

Claude Giroux
Scott Hartnell
Wayne Simmonds
Sean Couturier
Jakub Voracek

Seriously frustrating watching these "core" players underachieve like this. Ty Mcginn has played TWO games and leads the team in goals...

At this point, if things persist like they have and they do trade a big player I'd rather it be Giroux then Couturier. The contract is far less easy to work with and he would net a far larger return.
