It keeps getting better about that point differential....cole played terrible the first few weeks too....
anyway, is everyone sure that Stillman is not coming back tonight? Yahoo is certainly sure that he is! http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl;_ylt=Ajh...7E5bh_u3A5nYcB
I'm not sure if anybody remembers, but there was a poster that tried to bet anybody that would offer money that Tanguay would outscore Erik Cole by at least 20 points this year. I laughed at him. I know it's still early, but that doesn't look likely at all.
Tanguay outscoring Cole by 20 point isn't something to laugh about, if it happens I wouldn't be suprised, but I also wouldn't be suprised if Cole matches or betters Tanguay in points.
Even if Cole was a 50 point player, I'd still kill to have him on my team.

Peter Maher, Flames play-by-play man and recent Hall of Fame inductee said he talked to Stillman last night and he is definitly not playing.

I'll trust Forslund saying he's not playing this morning over a Yahoo article from last night saying that he is.
The point is that apparently Stillman has a sore hip and they're holding him back for a couple of days.
Oh, and since the Canes are currently playing well anyway, I have no problem not playing a guy recovering from serious shoulder surgery in a game featuring Dion Phaneuf.
Interesting, and congrats to your play-by-play guy on getting in, he joins some great company in there including our guy Chuck Kaiton.
I really hope the league gets its head out of its collective *** at the Governors meeting. Personally I love these interconference matchup, hopefully something can be worked fast because only getting to see teams once every 3 years is absolutely rediculous. I'd prefer to go back to the old system or better yet add a couple extra games while rolling back the divisional games to 6 so that each team hosts every team from the other conference twice every three years.
I agree Dave....I have been looking forward to this roadtrip since the start of the season. I have Center Ice and I watch it alot but I love actually SEEING how the Canes would match up against a Western team then trying to figure it out myself.
Well, that and making it happen on 2k6.
BTW - I have had this song stuck in my head almost all day now...but just the "You can't touch a flame when its RED HOT" part. Meh, guess it beats the Geico commercial Afino and I were singing all weekend. (You know the song. Dont pretend like you don't.)

I think you are mistaken. The chances are definitely better that cole would outscore Tanguay by 20, than for Tanguay to outscore Cole by 20. they are both good players, but as you can see by the goals for column, the availablility of pts is just not there in Calgary.

You know more words to that song than they play on the commercial? That's weird. I get that stuck in my head too though.

The irony of that poster saying that was that Tanguay was:
1. Going to a team that was notorious for making players play both sides of the puck, when Tanguay had established a bit of a reputation as a floater in his time in Colorado. A player that couldn't produce as much without a prime center.
2. Cole coming off a 59 point in 60 game season.
What he was essentially saying is that Cole was a one season wonder and Tanguay would blow him out of the water in points this year. One would have to admit at this point his statement was as arrogant and misinformed as it was short sighted. The proof is in the pudding.
That's hilarious. It's a running joke with my girlfriend that every time that commercial comes on I laugh at her. She had no idea what the words were and made something up that was totally off the wall. I can't remember what she said, but simply hearing that commercial now makes me laugh.

It got so bad on Sunday night, one of us would start singing it out loud and it would be the exact part that was running through the other persons head....thats some creepy **** right there.
Plus the cavemans face when he sees the add and walks backwards to stare is pure gold.
I think everyone can agree that it was a prety misinformed statement that Tanguy would outscore Cole by 20 points. Hell, I even remember comenting that the system he was going to would slow Tanguay's production in a big way. but the guy we're debating it with isn't the one that made that argument.... at least I'm prety sure he's not. I meen, it's not like we're dealing with one of the MANY Thrasher fans that said we wouldn't even make the playoffs this year.
That's what it unfortunitely sounds like. The Canes and Flames anouncers are sticking to that, so unless something drastically changes between now and pre-game that's the case.
