If you look closely, he's clutching his inner thigh and then when the trainer comes onto the ice he is on both knees talking to him. If it were and ACL or MCL the pain would have been even worse and he would be grabbing his knee.

Its a groin pull or strain.... How severe is the question.

Yeah you're probably right. So we're looking for 2 weeks if it'a 1st degree to a maximum of 10 if it's a severe 3rd degree. It seemed more like a 2nd or 3rd degree so we're probably looking at 4 to 8 weeks before he comes back. Given his fast healing metabolism il'll probably be 3 weeks though.

To me it looked like a hamstring injury the way he fell and was grabbing his leg. Hopefully it's just a hamstring pull and not a tear of any kind.

im thinking more groin pull or tear, but could very well be the knee

Actually, there's not much pain with ACL/MCL. It's only discomfort. I tore my ACL last year and the first thing my brother asked me was "does it hurt?" to which I replied "no" and he replied "crap..."

The swelling adds a lot of pressure in the joint when trying to bend, but no pain.

I thought the same thing...the part of the leg he grabbed tipped me off. I tore my hamstring last year in a soccer game and your entire leg just shuts down, no strength, nothing, and it was just instinctual to grab where the pain or trouble area is. I say he's out for 6-8 weeks.

Just woke up. How ****ed are we ?

If it's his knee... We're really ****ed.

Groin... Could be 4-6 weeks. That still sucks, but it's not as bad as a MCL,ACL, or both tear.

Better than 6-8 months , at the same time he can heal that nagging wrist/arm injury too

get better soon max! (pray its not the KNEE)

Hurt in playoff, 2 injuries this season, only 6 games played. He's starting to worry me.

Your post is EMBARRASSING to read. There's not a person on earth to not get injuries with the way Pacioretty got em.

The only thing that sucks about that is it forces them to keep a young guys in the press box each night.

With him out 5-6 months, I wouldn't be surprised if we signed/picked up or traded for a guy similar to Drewiske to be the #7 guy and allow Beaulieu to play 23 minutes a night AHL instaed of in and out of the lineup and in the press box.

The upside of this is that he'll be fit and fresh for the playoffs which I think we'll all agree is the most important thing

Suck for the guy. As a journeyman like him a long-term injury like that is enough to make him dissapear into the abyss of the forgotten.

Bet you Pacioretty has a torn or sprained left hamstring. That's my guess anyway.

He is paid anyway and has another year left on his contract.

He was very lucky to have a two years deal if you ask me.
