It sounds like Lander took another potential ankle injury.

Is it true that Pitlick is being tried at C? If so, how is he holding up?

Yeah, and he had a goal last game at center. He could transition to center a little easier being he played it before coming to the AHL. Anything to get him more time playing is good to me.

Pitlick could end up being a solid 4C for us. I'd love to see him out there running around looking for hits with Brown and Gazdic.

Pitlick was drafted as a center. That's great news if they think he's ready to get off the wing. Great news for the Oilers if Pitlick keeps getting better too. I love having hungry young players on the 4th line.

Arto Palovaara @ArtoPalovaara
@Artful_Puck rajala was caught by a wee lad in the hall that asked him why he's not playing. He replied "I'm not just playing".

With a response like that, you have to wonder if there isn’t something bigger than hockey going on right now for Rajala. With how quick and sudden the release was from Edmonton, it would certainly make sense. Regardless of the circumstances, Toni is a great player. I certainly hope that we’ll see him back on the ice soon, rather than later.

Hopefully everything is okay.

SHL team HV71 signed a 1 year deal with Rajala earlier today, he is expected to play his first game tomorrow night (and they seem very excited about it).

I guess he was just waiting for the right offer.

For the interested, Rajala's comments (I did my best with the translation):
Quote:
– I want to play again, it has been a while. I played in the AHL conference finals in the middle of June.

The Finnish forward agreed with the Edmonton Oilers to terminate his contract on August 25 this year.

– I spent the season in the AHL and the Oilers just have too many 1st round high draft picks so it is/was extremely difficult to get a chance to play in the NHL.

– It will be good for me to spend a couple of years playing in Europe and develop into a better player. After Europe I want to try the NHL again. My goal is to play in the NHL one day. I am ready to work hard to get there and I hope it will be as quick as possible. But a couple of years in Europe will be good for me.

He has been without a contract until now but training with Tammerfors in Finland.

– Honestly I waited too long before choosing a team this season, he admits.

But yesterday he met with HV's former SHL-finals-hero Puistola and they discussed the club he has just signed up for.

– He told me that it is an excellent organisation and when I got the offer from them I didn't hesitate. I am pretty excited to go play for them.

HV71 has only 8 points after 12 games and find themselves in the last place in th SHL.

Rajala is aware of what the situation is.

– I am going to my best and see if I can help the team to start winning. It is still very early in the season and it is not really that important where you are in the standing right now. Everything can change. From what I have heard it is a very good team and now it will be time to start showing it by playing good.

Hi,

don't know if this is the right thread for this. Can anyone tell me how much Cheechoo was making in Oklahoma during his 2012/2013 season? How much was he paid in total per season. I can't work out anything from capgeek.com and I have no idea how two way contracts with the AHL are paid. Does the NHL salary count, or AHL salary?

Thanks for any help!

He did, but he was on an AHL contract, not a two-way contract, so it won't show up on capgeek.

Almost impossible to find AHL contract details unfortunately.

Andrew Miller has had a decent start.

Pitlick will never have offense at the professional level.

Glad to see that Omark HAS recovered from that dirty headshot!

OT winner goal and the 1st star of the game! I think the team are on the right track after a poor start.

That was a great snipe!

Yeah, we need to see some more of those kind of shots on the big club. Always a good idea to pull it into the middle before you shoot.

**this is not me asking to recall Omark

The Bakersfield Condors have released their Roster for this season.

GOALTENDERS (2)

33 Paul Karpowich

34 Tyler Bunz

DEFENSEMEN (9)

2 Erik Burgdoerfer

3 Wes Cunningham

4 Joey Leach

5 Daniel Sobotka – reserve

6 Joe Marciano

7 George Hughes

8 Nick Pageau

24 Scott Macaulay

47 Kyle Haines – 21-day IR

FORWARDS (13)

10 Blair Macaulay

11 Luke Greiner

12 Chris Collins

14 Brett Lutes

18 Jordan Knackstedt

20 Tyler Brenner

21 Greg Burgdoerfer – reserve

22 Gary Steffes

25 Jake Morley

27 Nicholas Tremblay

44 Cameron Abney

77 Chase Schaber

89 Louke Oakley

IN AHL

19 Joel Broda (Oklahoma City)

The first game is tomorrow night at 7:00pm vs Colorado Eagles. Keep in mind that in ECHL you can only dress 10 forwards so I doubt you will see too much Abney.

I really hope Bunz plays like he's capable of something.

Omark 2 goals on 2 shots through 1 so far, vs Abbotsford.

Pitlick two helpers. Lander and Larsen with the others.

Thanks for the clip...now THERE'S the Omark I remember from the SEL. Going to the net aggressively, showing great hands in tight.

Keep that up, and while he might not play another game as an Oiler, he might garner interest from another NHL club that might be willing to give us at least some sort of asset for him.

I'm not surprised that Ewanyk is PKing but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't surprised that they have Kessy on the PK. I have high hopes for Kessy and I hope that he can get to NHL speed in somewhat short order.
