Yeah I watch that game. That was ugly.

These are the teams who are really going to expose our goaltending and lack of defense IMO.

We'll see. Giordano and Wideman have both been playing way better than last year so far. I do see a lot of goals going in when SOB is on the ice, though. Hopefully we can shorten our bench a little on the defensive side, and use those guys mostly against their bottom-6.

I basically need to choose one of those guys so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck tonight!!
There isn't much to be learned at the OHL level his game is something that works against the faster players in the world and will only get better as he is coached to played with and against them. I feel like Cammy and Stajan coming back before the WJC may mean we lend him to Canada if he calms down before December.

I'd like to see him up for the year possibly lent to Canada at Christmas.

I've been blown away by Widemans play so far. It will be interesting to see how he does against the Getzlafs/Perrys/Thorntons/Coutures of the world.

Can anyone confirm if Backs is actually out with an injury?

I believe that the only reason he's listed as questionable is because the report was written by NHL.com, who only seem to briefly scan through Flames-related headlines before writing something about us, and they would have seen that Backlund missed a practice after the last game.

I have no doubt he'll be in. We would have heard about it from Flames.com first if otherwise.

If it was me, I'd take Sven. I think Mony will stick all year unless he totally bombs on this road trip but I think as the year goes on, the law of averages will play out and Sven will outscore Sean simply because he's the more offensively skilled player.

The Flames should totally lose this game, so I'm predicting a win. I hope the Ducks take us lightly and I hope we really take the play to them. We need solid goaltending in this game. I am worried about the Sharks though, they are playing like the Hawks did last year.

I bet all the Vcash!

GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!!!!

Allen Vatanen

Hiller
Maroon has been filling the top line spot lately with Getz/Perry. Penner was injured for the last game, and the line-up is missing the recently healthy Etem, although that might depend on if they're planning to fit in DSP (edit: looks like he was just send back down).

It'll be a difficult game, the Ducks have 4 lines that can score and goalies that can keep the puck out. Although we've been scoring int he early-going, hopefully it doesn't turn in a "barnburner-type" game or we'll get eaten alive.

DSP was returned to Norfolk. Assuming Penner isn't ready to go, this is the lineup:

Maroon-Getzlaf-Perry
Silfverberg-Perreault-Selanne
Winnik-Koivu-Cogliano
Etem-Bonino-Palmieri

the OP has the D pairings correct. Fasth is starting.

Penner apparently is in tonight as 1LW. Otherwise everything looks good with Fasth starting. Should be a good, lively game.

So Penner-Getzlaf-Perry, and one of Maroon, Etem or Palmieri sits. Too many wings.

Where's the Ducks GDT? I'd like to read some stuff on the Ducks before the game.

This likely won't end well, it never seems to in Anaheim.

I hope I'm wrong. Just put in a full effort, boys.

Sometimes we don't have one until right before. Just depends on when our european fan contingent wakes up and makes one.

Man this game is a late one. I don't understand why two west coast teams need to play so late?

So that I can get home from downtown in time to catch the start of one of the games for once.

No, he's gonna star in an animated Warner Brothers movie about the time he took up bowling.
