You can tell confidence is a huge problem with this team, when they are playing like they will win, they are a great team. Now, the only question is how to get some of that mojo back? Need to string some wins together and start getting that PP going, give them energy when they score.

so Emery or Mason for this one ???

i dont see any way we can win this with Emery, but tbh i dont see us winning with mason either based purely on no goal drought.

so i guess the goalie is irrelevant really.

You're crazy, if someone had a pair of tickets to give you, you wouldn't go? Even if we only have 8 skaters and 3 defenseman and are the worst team in the league(hey we are) I would still go for free. I would actually pay money to go tomorrow, but I know I won't be getting out of work till late.

It won't be easy but we could pull it out a W.

To do so would require 60 mins of play, solid goaltending and MAF being a delicate flower.
Yeah, that isn't happening tomorrow. MAF only becomes a sieve that can't stop a beach ball during the playoffs. It is extremely hilarious to watch though.

There's a lot of people that wouldn't go for free at this point. If I'm bored and disappointed and lose interest just on television I'm not going to feel like having it happen in person. Nor would I want to overpay for drink and parking, drive through Philly, or suffer through drunk fans from both sides and gloating Pens fans.

Our whole division besides the Pens looks pretty shaky this year. If we figure it out soon we may still have a shot. It can start with this one. GO FLYERS

I know this is a little random, but do you think what simmonds is going through is just like what hartnell went through a few years ago? The same year he then went on to his career year? I mean i remember a few years ago on this forum everyone wanted him traded just like with simmonds, when he was playing terribly then he killed it. I think simmonds will be just fine, he doesnt play a complicated game, just needs to be in front of the net making some things happen and he will get his confidence back.

Personally I think we need to stop looking at individuals... it isn't one player struggling, it is the entire team.

Oh wow, I just realized how bad the entire Metro division is doing. No one but the Pens even has 3 wins yet. Haha. We're only 5 points off the 2nd place Canes.

Thanks MSE!

Think of it this way, if they did beat the Pens fair and square tomorrow, how do you think they will confidence-wise going into a week long break?

will be at this game tonite, the key to beating the pens for the flyers has been to get in their heads early with physical play, would like to see some of that tonite.

I'm gonna miss this game so the Flyers will likely destroy the Pens. You're welcome.

I think what's happening with Simmonds is like what happens with power forwards, their goal totals fluctuate from year to year. Ryan Clowe is another guy that comes to mind as going thru a really bad stretch. These guys aren't pure goal scoring snipers, so it is only reasonable to think they could struggle at times.
