It's nice playing a team that isn't a Cup contender. Just...nice.

If Richards keeps playing like this and Hagelin - Stepan - Nash can provide what they provided last year, our top 6 is respectable.

Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Richards - Brassard - Callahan

True. But that only works if we have somebody to replace him. Which, we don't currently have. Nobody is ready for that role on the right side. Replacing through trade/open market, doesn't help unless the contract is significantly less than what we would've paid Girardi.

The only downside is that Boyle is the third line center.

Blow it up.

Pouliot was brought here to be in the bottom six. He should be no where near the top six. Would switch him and Fast.

Impressive display. It helps that the Caps stink.

I straight up detest this guy. He's awful. Literally turns the puck over every time he gets it. I'm cringing watching him play on our second line.

Assuming AV intends to continue to utilize the third line as a checking line with primarily defensive zone starts, I don't view Boyle as a horrendous option. The bigger issue is the available wingers--Pouliot and Zuccarello don't have any place on a checking line.
