Anyway, assuming there is now a league with just Boston playing Toronto, well... I live in Toronto. Therefore I will be cheering for Boston.

(But I'll probably get bored after about Game #7 of the 82-game regular season series between the two teams, and I'll just concentrate on junior hockey and cheering for the Bulldogs to one day resurrect and re-populate the Habs.)
It was a constructed premise and therefore I can set my own boundaries!

I'd pick Boston. I hate the Maple Leafs with passion and I have a soft spot for other Boston professional sport teams (Pats!!!, Red Sox).

Edit: And since we're beating them every year in the playoffs, well let's say I have a little more "sympathy" for them

I think the results are interesting, it's in Boston's favor, but it's not a landslide, it's 60-40. Makes me think if someone posted this up on Toronto's board, Montreal or Ottawa, I'd think the results would be 70-30 for Montreal.

Why the hell not? This national pride crap is BS when it comes to league sports. Even though Carolina beat us last year, I still cheered for them against Edmonton because I've always hated the Oilers.

Agreed. The Habs have a lot going for them and the Sens-Leafs hatred of the past 10 years has been intense.

I'd pick the Leafs. I just hate Tim Thomas' face mask. Geez is it ugly...

If I have to choose... I don't know. Probably the Bruins. I dislike both teams equally (though less than at least one team) but I think I like the Bruins uniform better

For the most part, you can talk hockey with their fans, and keep it in perspective, which is what it's supposed to be about. Plus quite a few of their posters rank high on my want to have a beer with list.

Boston and Montreal have a lot in common as cities, they both have their own style, I like that.
And with TO it's the opposite. It's like they're the neighberhood jack ***** and all you wanna do is beat them and their fans

Okay, now I'm confused...you could do this with Hab fans? (let alone Leaffers...)...somehow boggles the mind...

I don't like to tar all the Leaf fans with the same brush, though I would like to actually tar them if possible. They have a lot of good posters and some who post here are pretty good guys. I'll probably sober up and delete this though.

If I had to choose between those two I'd go with Toronto since I live here. I've always hated Boston because the guys who I knew who were Boston fans were jerks.

If I could open it up to other teams I'd probably go for Ottawa or the Canucks.
