While Lundqvist certainly hasnt been up to par.. a whole bunch of the goals against can be summed up by the absolutely horrible D. And Lundqvist has been a slow starter for a few years.

Lundqvist is, quite literally, the only thing having to do with this team where I can say "he'll be fine" with confidence.

Sad to be reading this crap, but even more sad to not be surpised by it. A bunch of pseudo-analysts crop up every time something isn't going right.

no, i didn't think he just all of a sudden lost anything, i never thought he had what all the media and fan base thought he had, imo, his looks got him all that praise.. as far as his abilities... he needs a lot of help infront of him to be a great one

He started horribly last season too. I think he had 90% save percentage after 10 games or so there, but he played well later and upped that to 92,6%. No need to worry imo.

anyways, I've always believed that about brodeur. I'd love to compare his stats to lundqvist over time
ok, in 06-07 Brodeur finished 48-23-7 with a .922%

since he pads his stats by not facing any shots, I decided to take the top 15 (and ties) games where he faced the most shots that season

so it came out to 16 games of 34 shots or more that season

12-2-2 .938%

oh but that wasn't a Lemaire season, lets check out one

96-97
Brodeur 37-14-13 (remember when we didnt have skills comps to end games) .927%

in the 15 games - 29 shots and up

7-1-7 .956%
(haunting lack of scoring that year let you guys beat us in the playoffs)

oh and Lundqvist is rusty like he was last year, that is all

The point is; put Lundquist in Edmonton and he's simply average, Bryzgalov is a star in Phoenix - sucks in philly, Bobrovsky leaves philly and becomes a star, Anderson can't make it in Colorado - but is a star in Ottawa. Thomas is a superstar in Boston...sucks in Fla. - yet Rask (in Boston) puts up better stats than Thomas, Mike Smith.

I know something about AV and I question wether Lundquist can deal with his coaching style - that's all.
This works for sure if the ONLY possible factor was a coaching/system change but there are so many more things in play. Different players, off season training, age or in Thomas's case a whole year off. These are massive factors

maybe Lundqvist supporters would be better off comparing him to Richter or Vanbiesbrouk to make him look better....because against Brodeur, there is no comparison

Players are so entranced by his pretty face that they shoot him softies to boost his stats. It all makes sense now...

Am I the only one here who fears Hank will be the starting net minder for the New York Icelanders next year?

Dude can only shutout the overrated Caps. Joel Ward should of scored when Lundqvist was out of position in the first period. I'd look to trade him to the first team that offers up a third line grinder. Am I doing it right?

Yes. It was very believable until the last sentence. 10/10 Lundpads.

Fantastic game by Hank tonight. Much more aggressive than he normally is and he looked downright quicker.

Yep, he was very aggressive but wasn't fighting it.

Exactly. I hope we see more of this Hank. I loved his play tonight. He played angry, I think.
