No, he is. Leaf fans are just too worried he is and it will make them look bad. Take off those blue glasses for a bit and look. He's not great by any means but he's not as abd as he was there. I'm not even sure he was bad there, it's just that he was made out too be a god by YOUR fans then ripped him down when he wasnt. Toronto's fault!

Philly doesn't want another Russian headcase though...put in Eberle rather than Yakupov

I certainly hope it was a joke proposal, but he's been defending it pretty strongly. I don't know how people could seriously think this benefits Philly at all.

I thought Luke Schenn was good for the Flyers. Do the Flyers need more offence?

So, essentially Paul Holmgren would have turned Carter, Richards and JVR into Simmonds, Voracek, and Yakupov.

No thanks.

What do Oilers fans think of something around Simmonds + Coburn + 2nd for Eberle + Klefbom? The Flyers would likely need to add a little more, but I think that could be the base of the trade. Oilers get grit in Simmonds and a top-4 minutes eating defenseman (who Oilers management apparently likes a lot) and a pick likely in the 31-45 range. Flyers get a skilled forward that can finish to play with Giroux and another solid defenseman to add to Hagg, Morin, Ghost, etc.

Philly's giving up too much but this solves nothing for Edmonton. Even though I don't think highly of anyone they give up.

IMO, Edmonton is a good trading partner for Toronto. Whether it be Liles at a discounted cap hit/Reimer/another D-Man. Both teams have pieces that fit.

Some Oiler fans just need to wrap their head around the fact that Reimer is a good starting goaltender in this league and is a huge upgrade over Dubynuk. With that said, I'd prefer to keep the luxury of having Reimer + Bernier because IMHO, goaltending is the main piece you need to win games in this league.

I feel like people who make Philly proposals deserved to get spanked by Berube lately.

Oilers don't need a third line C with Gordon playing well.

Anyway, some thoughts into this three way trade.

1. no interdivision trading
2. Meets each teams need
3. Pieces may need to be added, this is merely the center pieces.
4. I may have the lines and/or d pairings wrong on tor and phi. I tried though! HA!

To Edmonton:
Braydon Schenn (edm needs a third line C and someone to push gags on the second line)
Luke Schenn (Stay at home d to anchor our puck movers)
James Reimer (um... duh)

To Philidelphia:
Nail Yakapov (elite finisher in the making)

To Toronto:
Sean Couturier (second line center with potential top line)

Edm
Hall - RNH - Hemsky
Perron - Gagner - Eberle
Smyth - Schenn - Jonesu
etc

Smid Petry
Schenn Schultz
Belov Ferrence

Reimer
Dubnyk

Phi
Hartnell Giroux Voracek
Yakapov Lecal Simmonds
Read Talbot
etc

Coburn Steit
Grossmann Mez
Gust Timm

Toronto
JVR Kadri Kessel
Lupul Couturier Bodie
etc

Phaneuf Franson
Rielly Ranger
Fraser Gunnarsson
So you think that a 1st OA pickis worth two top 5 picks and a top 7 pick??? Philly would have to get back the Edm 1st and TorTour 1st for us to even cconsider this

Mum, I'd take Hall is a heart beat. IMO he's the 2nd best winger in the game only behind Ovi

That implies the Flyers have any offense right now.

The oilers management balked at the idea of giving up a 1st and 2nd for Schneider. There's no way in hell they'd consider Yakupov for Reimer.
