he had a great career. Always sad to see players like him retire.

So, if I understand you correctly, you're stating a fact. You think a fact will stop the hf rumour mill ? Fat chance. I'm more sure then ever.

If anything, this helps Montreal as it lowers his trade value.

Chances are, Nieuwendyk's intentionally lowering his trade value to help his buddies Carbo and Gainey. He's learned from Roberts' attempt to get traded to Toronto.

I loved the time he spent in Montreal. I think my favourite moment was when he smashed the glass in the penalty box simply by slamming the door shut (without batting an eye, mind you).

Too bad, when I saw him last year in Ottawa (while he was injured) skate with Stumpel he was not even able to bend his back when he skated the fact he came back from that suprised me. Good career.

Exactly. Samsonov for Nieuwendyk still works for me.

Didn't Lou Lamoriello managed to trade Malakhov even if he was retired? I want Nieuwendyk for Samsonov and Niinimaa!

Gilmour is a real Warrior, don't diss him.

I'd love to have Nieuwendyk for the playoffs.
