Enough talking about the refs, missed calls, bad calls, etc...they stink and need to play better.
More than anything I think they need to start playing full hockey games, since Berube took over they have looked decent for at least 30 mins in each game... then flat out sucked for the rest of it.

And converting great chances, some of the misses and whifs have been comical.

The Good: Mason.

The Bad: Practically everyone.

The Ugly: Cobum.

Let's do some detective work.

The Flyers get bounced in the playoffs after a goaltending is terrible all year. The crappy goaltending continues. Lavi is ordered by Holmgren to change his system to be more defensive to shelter Bryz, after acquiring ill-fitting players to get to that end. Lavi has no idea how to do this. As a result, the team has no idea what they're doing. They lose confidence in the system they don't know how to play, and they lose more confidence playing in front of the worst goalie in the NHL. They don't buy into the system, and come into the year unmotivated and listless. The team is now broken mentally while trying to run a training camp in the middle of the year to both get back into shape and learn a new system.

That all goes back to Holmgren in the end.

When the Eagles are your best Philly team, you're in trouble.

I think Vanek will be on this team by Sunday. We need a proven goal scorer on this team. Realistically we do not have a sniper on this team. Hartnell although he had a 37 goal season is no sniper. I would say Read is our best sniper and he's pointless lol. Pretty sad.

I hope not... giving assets away for what will probably be an expensive rental would be silly, especially if it takes another 10 games for Berube to get all the players on the right wave length, as much more of this and there is no way this team makes the playoffs.

Shut up about that. If you people are going to cry and ***** constantly about the team I can certainly point out that the refs screwed us, especially when it's true. The team played good in the 1st but were screwed by two horrible calls against them, the 2nd was unbelievably terrible except for the last 20 seconds, and the third looked pretty good when they had a bunch of offensive pressure and the refs ignored at least 3 penalties which could've given them the goal that tied the game.

That all goes back to Holmgren in the end.
i remember hearing after Lavi finaly got fired, that the team (players) fully expected Lavi to have been fired in the offseason.

so when he came back for training camp/preseason, the team was confused and basicly unmotivated.

We've scored 11 goals? It sure doesn't feel like it was that many.

If there are going to be changes I don't want him making them.
He's made lots of moves but nothing that has improved this team. In fact, I'd say the team looks worse than it did previous to the Richards-Carter trades in 2011 and I don't see much on the horizon, which tells me it'll be much better, even after Hartnell and Lecavalier return. Timonen, in the 13 minutes he played, is really starting to show his age but, even so, he's probably better than the rest of the defence.

Wow, where do I begin?...Coburn is done here...Why the hell do u pass to the middle of the ice where opposing forwards are at?....Simmonds...eventhough he scored a goal, his plays are just bad right now....what is wrong with him? Several times during this game, he was in scoring position or attacking on 2-1, he just fumbles the puck or took his sweet ass time, and either looses the puck or the defenders strip him off the puck. As result, he had to burn all his energy getting the puck back. I'm done. I'm down in Tampa, and have tickets to see this team in November....Wont be pretty.

Bryzgalov couldn't commit to the year and the LV team released him. Apparently, there's some interest from some unnamed NHL clubs. Edmonton would be first on the list, be my guess.

I really hope they can get it together in this week off they have. They have certainly looked better in every game since lavi was let go....

Good: Mason again
Bad: Rest of the team (but they are improving)
Ugly: Flubbed/Missed shots. Can we trade coburn yet? please?

My sports teams are all upside down. The Orioles have actually had a good team for 2 years in a row and now a team I count on being good every year(The Flyers) suck.

That has absolutely no correlation. If anything the team would more than likely be 0-8 and have allowed more goals than they have so far.

Since this team is going to take years to fix Hextall should take over without delay. Holmgren should apologize to the fans for totally mishandling the Laviolette situation.
