Found another one (yes, I'm still digging through QMJHL records)...

On February 21, 1989, both Granby goaltenders - Andre Racicot and Rock Chatel were ejected from the Bisons' game against Chicoutimi for fighting, and right wing Regis Tremblay had to wear the pads.

Chicoutimi wasn't gentle on Tremblay, either, putting 34 shots on him in just over 37 minutes. Tremblay allowed ten goals in a 10-1 defeat.

(Speaking of which, how's that for a great goalie name - Rock Chatel?)

I was just going to say. Loosely translated "chatel" means little boy or little girl.

Got another one, again from the QMJHL.

On September 27, 1976, Joe Martin, a defenseman for the Laval National (QMJHL), had to step into the National net 30:23 into the game after starter Richard Sirois and backup Yves Charbonneau were ejected with game misconducts. Entering the game with a 3-2 advantage, Martin stopped 12 of 14 Chicoutimi shots to earn the 6-4 win. Martin even earned an assist on Laval's sixth goal, scored by Gilles Parenteau.

It was Joe's rookie year in the Q - he had a solid junior career, but never made it to the show:

Yep - we've got Crisp on the list (posts #10/#11).

Taco, do you have anything on Scott Allen? Former ECHL forward and current Chicago Wolves assistant coach went into net sometime during the 1988-89 ECHL season for the Carolina Thunderbirds. playing 13:57 in one game and giving up 3 goals on 10 shots. Trying to find stuff on google about this game and I'm coming up empty (no date, no opponent, etc.)

All I have (so far) are his stats from that game:
http://hockeygoalies.org/bio/allens.html

I've looked through the Carolina newspapers that I could find from the era (admittedly, these are sparse online and in the Denver area) and haven't been able to find anything yet.

One for the record books?

Charlie Conacher played 3 minutes in net in the third period on March 16th, 1935. He stopped all 4 shots he faced and also scored a hat trick in the game. Toronto beat the Canadiens 5 to 3.

Ogilvie "Odie" Cleghorn in 1925/26 had to don the pads (he was then Coach of the short-lived Pittsburgh Pirates) when Roy Worters came down with pneumonia and was unable to continue playing having started. Odie allowed 2 goals, but Pittsburgh triumphant. This preceded Lester Patricks' adventure in the net with the Rangers, and Odie was on-hand for that episode as well, filling in for Patrick behind the bench on that occassion.

Hardy Sauter apparently played four minutes in net for the 1998-99 CHL Oklahoma City Blazers:

Would love to know more about the appearance.

And another one (this must be my big day) - right wing Luc Beausoleil, with the Tulsa Oilers (again in the 1998-99 Central Hockey League):

Erie Otters of the OHL put center Connor Crisp in goal around 5 years ago. Sadly no Cinderella ending, they got beat pretty badly although he held his own considering.

Post #11 has a link to the game in question. Particularly interesting is that Crisp was named the game's first star.

Here's another: E.J. Sauer (defenseman) played for the Central Hockey League Tulsa Oilers in 1992-93:

Yes, this is how I relax.

Defenseman Doug Johnson apparently played 17 minutes in goal for the Fresno (Fighting) Falcons in 1997-98:

Enforcer Jimmy Bonneau served as the backup for the AHL Worcester Sharks this year (although he didn't get into the game):
